Carlton give Geelong 7
Carlton get 13, 16
Carlton give 13 to essendon for Saad
Carlton give 16 to Pies for Trealor and pies pay $250k of salary
Geelong on trade 7 and 11 to GWS for Cameron

But then we go to the draft with 27 as our highest pick?
.. i guess that is okay, given we will have Saad, Treloar and Williams?

Treloar's 2021 contract is nudging $900,000 apparently, so make it $300k.

So... I had to call the club because there was a problem with my membership renewal. I spoke with a Nick, who I naturally assume was Nick Austin.

Lex: Um... hello

Nameless gentleman: Hello, you’re speaking to the Carlton football clubs membership department. My name is Nick, how may I help you?

Lex: Oh wow, Nick Austin?

Nick: No, this isn’t Nick Austin.

Lex: *long pause......”

Nick: Hello?

Lex: Sorry, I winked through the phone but you couldn’t see me. So Mr. Austin, about my member....

*Phone clicks beep beep beep*

Lex: Hello? Hello? Mr. Austin? Are you still there?

Cats are giving 11, 13 and 16 for Cameron who is a restricted free agent. That's a massive haul. We make out like bandits turning 7 into Saad and Treloar.

Cooney rates Saad more than Treloar based on that as well.

It would be pretty good but it’s a way out there trade idea from Cooney.

Look at it this way. If Cripps is 100% invested in seeing Carlton up the top of the ladder again, and has no intention of bailing - then SOS would know that. He was running our list management team until the end of last year.

So if he's now deliberately misrepresenting the intentions of a player, contrary to actual knowledge of that players intentions, and doing so to create tension in the media...yeah, I reckon the player would be a bit pissed.

Tom Browne can speculate all he likes. SOS is in a position to know.

He's either right, or he's lying.
Well then, Cripps should take it upon himself to prove that generally open inference, which SOS has expressed, wrong by signing up PRONTO; no delay, no excuses.

I look at it this way if indeed Trelaor is on 900K for the next five years.
If we didn't want Treloar for five years and only wanted to offer three, how do you do it?

If the Pies wanted to pay 1.25 mil out of the 4.5 mil, that leaves us having to pay 3.25 mil over three years or 1.08 mil per year.
If we wanted him for four years it would still be 812k per year and al this for a 28 year old with soft tissue concerns.

One has to look at it from the length of the trade and not just the money.....or at least that's the way I'd look at it.
Collingwood aren't looking at moving him for no reason. Buyer beware.

I like a lot. Or maybe give 16 and Dow, or Obrien to Melbourne for Oliver.

Seems like Collingwood have decided they've passed the point of no return with Treloar with all the baggage out in the media.
Question is....how little are they willing to take to get Treloar off their books?
I'd think they have very little bargaining power right now and would be forced to accept scraps.

That's what players do to stop speculation. There is a whole industry that gets paid to speculate and analyse. Happens to every player.

Yeah, he probably wants to stay and wants to see what is left after trade week is over but until he signs, the industry will talk.

250k posts about Blues rumours over the last 6 years, suggests people like the gossip.

A ok.

We have a zillion developing kids and young types.

We do need a KPD - 27 for Harry's bro? need to meet minimum draft numbers or would they be met via the mega trade?

Pick up Butters as a SF rookie.

Back Owies and Honey in.

From a Geelong point - that is just ludicrous.

ps. Essendon still sprouting everywhere that pick 7 is going to them and nowhere else. Apparently, we can get a second back from Port deal. This smells of Sheedy now.....and if it gets done like that...well Austin.....well..

I’d say it’s easier to trade for Treloar using a 1st (and perhaps a young player but maybe not needed) because Collingwood wants rid of him. Oliver is taking a lot more than a 1st and Dow/LOB, I would argue even two 1sts and Dow/LOB.

I asked him if I could get Clayton Oliver’s picture on my card next year. His response was ‘haha that’s be nice wouldn’t it!’.

I’m no ITK but there was a tone in his voice that made me feel he knew more than he was letting on. so I say Clarry to be a blueboy 2021. Lock it in the Bank!!

mods feel free to add to the no discussion thread 👍

OK, so this is a bit awkward.

But I called the club and asked for Mil Hanna's and Tommy Alvin's pictures on my 2021 membership card.

I’m no ITK but there was a tone in his voice that made me feel he knew I was an idiot....

:)

We have some astute people working at the club.

That’s Michael Agresta for you.

My intuition says his perspective of the Saad trade isn’t honest I don’t think he as a list manager would give u pick 7 on its own for Saad and this is what he has stated as accepted fact we have to do
His comments are recorded we should be happy with Williams and Saad for pick 7
When really pushed said maybe something back
For me if it smells and looks like bullshit it’s usually bullshit I don’t know his motives
His perspective on this trade doesn’t gel with the list manager from a year ago
It might; SOS' logic seemed to be a spade for a spade rather than planning for an advantage, though he'd gladly take one if the opportunity irises. To him, Williams might be seen as part of the whole trade haul rather than as a free hit. That was one of his two weaknesses as a list manager, IMO.
