As per the Bluemour File OP, this is a thread for discussing Carlton related rumours.
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/bluemour-file.1085141/

Rumour posters should post their rumours in both threads for those that like just to read rumours and for those that like to have get lost in their rumour files.

feel sorry for Treloar, I reckon he'd be great for 2 or 3 years, but 5 years seems an awfully long time. What were the Pies thinking??!

He's been crucified by Collingwood.

OK, so this is a bit awkward.

But I called the club and asked for Mil Hanna's and Tommy Alvin's pictures on my 2021 membership card.

I’m no ITK but there was a tone in his voice that made me feel he knew I was an idiot....

:)
Word of advice don’t ask for Josh Bootsma’s pic you may get more than you asked for.

It might; SOS' logic seemed to be a spade for a spade rather than planning for an advantage, though he'd gladly take one if the opportunity irises. To him, Williams might be seen as part of the whole trade haul rather than as a free hit. That was one of his two weaknesses as a list manager, IMO.

:clapping: - Only weakness but I'll pay it.

I find it interesting that 36 hours after merrett comes out and states his commitment to the club that Dan Richardson gets sacked.

For the record, Merrett commited to the club in 2021.

I think this is very much a 'watch this space'.

If * don't improve (fingers crossed), I think he investigates his FA options next year.

No love for Tomas Bugg?

Jed lamb should have been given another year instead of him

Wonder if Oliver or wines will do the same thing?

I get that I don’t think he would objectively value Saad at 7 and would find a way to satisfy Essendope or as per GC not and use the preseason draft he would offer what he thought a fair trade I don’t believe his take maybe he’s just hiding his tricks

I look at it this way if indeed Trelaor is on 900K for the next five years.
If we didn't want Treloar for five years and only wanted to offer three, how do you do it?

If the Pies wanted to pay 1.25 mil out of the 4.5 mil, that leaves us having to pay 3.25 mil over three years or 1.08 mil per year.
If we wanted him for four years it would still be 812k per year and al this for a 28 year old with soft tissue concerns.

One has to look at it from the length of the trade and not just the money.....or at least that's the way I'd look at it.
Collingwood aren't looking at moving him for no reason. Buyer beware.

You've missed the point - if the three parties agree to (whatever) terms then sobeit.

Provided Treloar's ok with it and he's not getting fleeced, AFLPA would have no concerns.

No doubt Treloar would accept a bit of a haircut overall.

Why should Treloar accept his salary being cut though?

It will be cut anyway as will be the case for every player, but why would he accept a pay cut because the team he agreed to enter the contract with, have fallen out of love with him? If anything I'd go harder.......if I could.

Anyway and as I said - Carlton would have to know whether that money could be better used and maybe they don't want five years of Treloar.
One has to look at things holistically.

That's what players do to stop speculation. There is a whole industry that gets paid to speculate and analyse. Happens to every player.

Yeah, he probably wants to stay and wants to see what is left after trade week is over but until he signs, the industry will talk.

250k posts about Blues rumours over the last 6 years, suggests people like the gossip.

Finally....a fact in the rumour thread!

You'll get me shot making accusations like that.

I did. You didn't.

Stop fixating on the term of current contract and the current $$$.

Offer the bloke a solution (to the current predicament) and a potential tilt at a flag.

He'll take less coin and agree to different terms.

Adam Coneys mega trade
Carlton give Geelong 7
Carlton get 13, 16
Carlton give 13 to essendon for Saad
Carlton give 16 to Pies for Trealor and pies pay $250k of salary
Geelong on trade 7 and 11 to GWS for Cameron
Coney = 1603945318102.png with the late news.
That Mega trade has been floated on this board weeks ago. Even even the waitress at my favourite Vietnamese restaurant came up with that last month.

If you got Treloar he’d have one helluva chip on his shoulder to prove people wrong. And if you got him, you could potentially renegotiate and front end his contract to alleviate the 4th 5th year concerns.

Another trade option is 7 for 14 and Treloar.
I reckon Pies would hear us out on that, but I'd still want them paying a bit of the contract.

Would help us to get Saad (14 pretty close to fair value, if a bit overs).
