Sam Edmund reporting pick 7 will be included in the Saad deal, a later pick possibly coming back. *dont have a 2nd rounder as of yet.

If it is true, could it end up being that Port give Ess pick 26 for Fantasia, and then we give Ess pick 7 for Saad and pick 26? That's the equivalent points of pick 20.

I'm not saying that's what I want to happen but that seems to be roughly what Sam Edmund is suggesting.

If that's the best we can do, I'd rather take their future 2nd

Although a contract is a contract, there has to be a compromise.

Clubs are more than the few people pushing this agenda. Plenty of teammates, coaches, staff he'd be close to that wouldn't want to see him gone. Not sure the decision makers behind this will themselves be there in 5 years.

At this point I'd rather we just put next year's first on the table. Pick 7 is a valuable pick to take to the draft, and shouldn't be on the table for an uncontracted player.

Have a soft spot for him somehow. He can play but to me, he seems to need everything in its place for that to come about.

EDIT: One VFL game last year he seemed as much a footballer as I am. One of the worst games I'd seen from CFC midfielder.

Point value doesn’t mean anything.
If Geelong have a player they think won’t get past say pick 10 then they might want an earlier pick.

I'd accept a late teens or early 20's pick this year coming back with Saad for pick 7 and they should be able to get one.

I don’t work with either of them but got a bit of a well deserved rev up from Sammy a few weeks back for driving where shouldn’t have. I’ve been in the industry for ages, and he is fresh but on the way up, bit of a go getter, from what I cas see externally. Haven’t really seen Jedd much, but work with his brother heaps. The brother is a bit loose but Jedd seems to keep his head down. I’ll take a photo of the rail truck with Jed’s name on it next time I see it.

He'll get picked up by someone if we decide to move him on...surely at least North.

A pick in the teens sure. If they get Band 2 for Daniher, that would work. But #26 is not enough.

Your VFL observations have been sorely missed this year - given MK's athletic limitations, I think the laidback personality that so endears him to the fans is what holds him back in the current AFL environment.

I’m sorry, but when did * run this transaction. Saad wants to go where? That’s right us, not Hawthorn, St. Kilda, Norf, he chose us. Trading anything to * is essentially goodwill. Do any other dealings first - ie split pick, or go after another player or whatever, then table OUR best offer. If * don’t want it, walk him to the PSD. No-one will take him, and that’s IF anyone even has a PSD pick, and he hasn’t spoken to them or had a medical!?!? Reckon * will keep a PSD pick to get him to stay? - really!!

Make it a reasonable offer I agree, but I don’t see it anything different to Martin. We were reasonable, they didn’t want it, we walked him to PSD. Not our problem.

If we use 7 in a direct trade for Saad, I will quit this forum, that’s how confident I am. I see a split with GEE or BRI.

I can't tell you how much I've missed going.
Whether my insight is good or not, there's so much you pick up about individuals at these games. More than any pre-season hit outs.

You hear things you won't at AFL games. You see the faces close up and the intent of individuals.
What I meant abut Kennedy in the Collingwood game last year, was that whatever he did didn't work and you could feel his frustration.
He didn't like himself that day......Williamson though...wow..

Don’t buy into the reports that the media feed out straight away. I remember the Henderson deal being locked in for a second rounder and Josh Walker. Consistently reported as that being fact and look what happened there. They are driving an agenda. Can only see us sending 7 there if it’s netting us another result elsewhere
