So, our first pick is 38. We have 3 picks left, have to make 2 if I’m correct, one being upgrade of Gibbo. 38 I think still gets us a rated player and some picks will come before us, but also be lost on Academy bids.

What about Will Brodie for @48. Top 10 pick, old man/family is here, he’s a great tackler and pretty quick, we were interested in him in his draft year. Worth a look now we have filled some of our spots.
Personally I prefer Hewett from Sydney but opinions are like a**holes .

I'd say SPS would be I/C or depth at best next season. Hard to find a spot in our best 22....
Forward of centre either on a wing, through the guts or half forward flank I reckon there's a starting spot for him every week.

Forward 50 entries killed us this season and we had arguably our most creative and best kick in the side stationed in no man's land on the half back line. Play him where he was drafted to play!

Taking a throw at the stumps here.

Collingwood send Stephenson to the Kangaroos. North send 28 and 30 in return

Carlton send OBrien and 38 to the Pies and get 30 back (again) in return.

Collingwood end up with 28, 38 and Obrien for Stehenson.

We take 30 and 48 into the draft and look for a KPP and Small Forward. Then a Ruck in the Rookie Draft.
Shit that doesn't value LOB much .

Do you see Marchbank as mainly a defender with ability to play wing? Are they the strings to his bow?

A player with his marking ability, why would he not work playing as a third tall forward/ruck chop out type?

I think he is only a 3rd tall defender

Probably too late now, but we have a number of 3rd talls and I can see one being traded out next year

Jack, Gov, Kennedy, Marchbank, Plow, Doc

For you guys saying Collins wouldn’t get in our team ... how many games have you actually watched him play?

To me it sounds like not many ... if any.

The point is had we recruited him, every chance he never even got a look in to show the form he has now at GC. He got an opportunity at a club lacking KPDs and he made the most of it...whereas we are happy with Weitering and Jones.

Okay, so list size numbers are in.

Minimum of 37 and max of 44.

Am I correct that - as of now - we have 44 on the list (rookies included)?

This would mean that by adding Gibbons to the senior list and needing to add 2 x draftees, we'll need to cut 2 x players.

Who are our unsigned - Kennedy, Polson, Moore?

Latter two go for me, sadly.

Not that sad tbh...Moore & Polson seem like obvious cuts and neither made much of a contribution to our senior team. I mean thanks and good luck to both of them, but they would be pretty standard cuts that happen every year.

Best asset of intercept marking. But doesn't seem to ever have had the running ability to move to the wing.

the next bit will be fun - we traded out ???? he's definitely best 22, blah blah blah

i can see more melts coming

personally - you cant make an omlette without breaking eggs - we have a fair few players we can afford to let go

Nope. Two reasons:

1. They'd only trump us with one club. If Bris agree to split 8 and * beat us, then we still have Cats, Tigers, Pies and Saints we could've worked something out with.

2. 8 + 30 > 7 + 48, so actually, we did have a stronger hand if we wanted to go that path.

Not having a go or dig at anyone but...

How do we know we didn't try splitting picks?
Perhaps the other clubs didn't want to hand over 2 picks for one in this so called compromised draft.

It seemed like the obvious thing to do but never eventuated, maybe because it was shut down by all other clubs.

Did any team do any such pick swaps? i.e a first rounder for 2 higher picks?

naming a whole
A fill in...?

If we have 2 injuries to Levi, Weits, Jones, which 2nd tall does Marchbank matchup on

Dixon, Ladhams/Lycett, Marshall
Hawkins, Esava/Stanley, Cameron
Lynch, Nank/Soldo, Riewoldt
Daniher, Mcinerney/Smith, Hipwood

Just to name a few

Naming a whole swag of ruckmen in your list hardly makes your point.

It's a common assumption that the option that eventuated was the only one tried.

So he would have been mismanaged the club and not provided appropriate opportunity then.

That I can relate to at Carlton.

2 years ago I’d have agreed as his trajectory looked assured. Interested to know your thoughts on his failure to make the grade this season?

Sideline comment- I think LOB grew up a C’wood supporter as his father played there.

he is someone I have kept an eye on..I thought his second half of the year in 2019 was solid..He has a beautiful kick and can turn it on when he is in the zone. He has some areas to work on but is highly rated internally as some itk posters let me know earlier in the year when I questioned why he had not been given opportunity in our seniors. I reckon we just need to be patient with both him and Dow; if both can get better on required aspects of their game then they will succeed.

It comes down to each player's desire and how much the want it....

SPS's best is elite, his worst pretty lame.

Can he bridge the gap more frequently?
Agreed but i think we've seen his worst when playing in defence. I think he would be better more often than not playing midfield.
