I don't think they have the lovey-dovey brotherly relationship, I think they're the competitive I'd rather rub your nose in the dirt kind.
Obviously still love eachother, but just love beating eachother.

Think the deal is perfect for everyone
H, on good coin and when he gets to being a FA, can cash in that one big deal. Can assess the progress of the team in the meantime
Club, don't lose H as an OOC and has the opportunity to progress/rise over the next 2 half years
Potentially another reason for the 2 yr deal is the Covid altered salary cap. Who knows what the salary cap will be in 2 yrs. Ideally for Harry covid passes and the league is back making more money and the TPP goes up, right when H is in line for a contract.

Seems his agent has played this well to get the best deal out of us in 2 years when he’s at his/entering his peak. Don’t mind that, esp if we can structure payments to other big names easier during this time.

Im sure i read way back it was not knowing what the TPP for next season was the hold up. Glad we're getting some movement now.
I think the TPP meeting with the clubs was in the last month or so, which was obviously going to hold up quite a few deals at multiple clubs

if the club gets their shit together and result start to come through on-field then he'll sign in a heartbeat when this contract is out - if we are in the same spot in 2 years time then id expect him to leave and fair enough

This kind of thing is just becoming the new norm. Short-term filler deals to get through to free agency. Doesn't mean a player doesn't have any confidence in the group/team, or that they want to leave in 2 years. But it does put the club on notice and lets the player test the market and maximise their deal, even if that deal ends up being less than market value at their current club.
