I’ve used 1 computer maybe 2....

I remember a guy about 15 years ago saying he never uses the internet because it’s boring and he prefers to be outdoors. I thought, pfft, weirdo.

We are very lucky that Harry has signed for 2 years. Think about what a failure the club has been the entire time Harry has played for us and the big offers he would have received from other clubs. Many players would have asked to leave given the same circumstances.

It is incredible we have been able to keep players the way we have on the back of some hope (or long rebuild). Although I expect a few lesser names and youngsters to leave at the end of the year, now that some of that hope has turned into disappointment and uncertainty.
It's good to see that Teague has the players believing, I can see why but I just wish they could put it together and really dominate games for 4qtrs.

Really? In the bye week? Jesus Harry, have some standards mate. They haven't done anything yet. At least take a few phone calls, have a cup of coffee in public and wait till a few things change on field. We're mediocre. If you're just happy to be there, collect a pay cheque, and have the ball kicked to you a lot, you're part of the problem.
At least you got his name right.

But you can look up pictures of outdoors on the internet!!!

Gov has been disappointing, but still has time to contribute

Not many players on the list that have his xfactor
Does Mitch McGovern even have Mitch McGoverns x-factor?

The most disposals he's ever had for us is 13, a number he's only reached once. 21 of his 31 games for Carlton he's had single digit disposals with a total of 35 goals.

As for excitement x-factor, I don't think he's taken one hanger for us since arriving. He took them semi-regularly for Adelaide. It's an odd one because that's not something you'd think someone would just lose. He doesn't kick Eddie Betts style goals from nowhere.

At best he has 5-10 minute periods where he gets hit on the lead 2 or 3 times, that's about it.

Nah watch him at Adelaide, we haven’t had had the best version of McGovern but. I have been very disappointed like most of us but I was over the moon when we got him.
I was cautiously warning everyone I could that he's only ever been bang average, if not below average, with Adelaide just with the odd highlight that makes him look like a gun. His statistical output with us isn't that different to Adelaide, it's slightly less but not significantly, the main difference is now he he doesn't take hangers.

It probably didn't matter as much with Adelaide as he was 5th fiddle behind Walker, Jenkins, Betts and Lynch. So he could have games with 7 touches and 1 goal and it didn't matter so much. A highlight mark and a goal or 2 was enough from him.

But with us we needed him to be the #2 or at worst #3 forward and he couldn't step up. Not sure what the best version of him is, but so far it appears to be as the 4th or 5th forward.

Haven't checked, but how many of those 21 games were in a covid reduced outing? Nevertheless, he wasn't a high possession getter even at the Crows. Overall, these types of players rarely rack up more than 20 disposals, but he does need to lift his output

As yet, we have rarely replicated conditions similar to what he had at the Crows, where he was effectively the 3rd or 4th tall behind Walker, Jenkins, Lynch.

Gov isn't a KPF, he just becomes more effective/dangerous when he is the 3rd or 4th fiddle.

But not just goals, his field kicking is elite

Or his accuracy in front of goal.

Just needs a healthy run at it. That may never come though.

Yeap on all counts

What X-factor?

You don't watch much footy do you

Mc Govern isn't on the park long enough, is injury prone and hasn't lived up to whatever we saw in him from Adelaide. This will be evidenced by the trade we get when he gets put up.
A sack of sherrins (used)

I think it’s always been CFC plan that he’d be number 3, which he never really has had the chance to be either. Playing number 3 under Charlie and Harry wouldn’t be such a headache for our rivals structurally but instead Harry hasn’t really come on until this year, the opposition knows Levi is not a massive threat and Mitchy has been injury prone. So he has always got more attention than we intended and he hasn’t been able to stay on the park.

I'd love to see the Harry-Charlie-Mitch combo get at least a few games together by the end of the season.

12

2019 in 16 games he averaged 8 and 1.4 goals a game
2020 in 12 he averaged 7 and 0.75 goals a game
2021 in 3 he averaged 10 and 1.3 goals a game (his injury shortened game was only 7% less gametime than his season average)

Those numbers are very similar to his time at Adelaide, the goals are about the same but possession is slightly less by about 3-4 possies a game. He's basically matching his output with the Crows, so even has the 4th tall - and 5th overall forward (maybe even 6th, depending how much you rate Charlie) - he wasn't doing any better.

Yes Gov has been a real lemon so far in the campaign however things can change very quickly, example Jones supposed gun forward miraculously reinvented to a gun defender, if our team structures are adjusted a little, a well & fit, Mitch is a valuable asset.
