I’d imagine that Freo will be enquiring about q certain brother of… clearly Angus is not the quality of his brother and no idea if playing with his bro is a priority, but if he did nominate dees I’d imagine it’s smart business to try and get a combo of Brayshaw and Weid for Cerra. No way in hell they let go of Kosi or Jackson, but the other two could make for an interesting trade scenario. Hope like hell it doesn’t happen as the combo of Cerra and Hewitt would balance our midfield beautifully.

Was just listening to Sam Edmund on SEN, where they were rehashing earlier comments from Voss regarding having spoken to Carlton.

My take on it… he genuinely doesn’t have an idea on who will be coaching the Blues next year.

It seems that Sayers is either doing an incredible job at stopping any leaks, or we just haven’t got that far in the ‘process’ of appointing the new coach.

Fingers crossed that it’s the former, and Clarkson and Sayers are strategically plotting the resurrection of Carlton as I type.

Freo's leverage is the PSD - it's rarely used but the time a club might seriously consider is the current scenario. Pick 6 on offer from Carlton yet if Cerra was to nominate Melbourne and the best they can offer is next year's (very late) 1st, the offers would be so far apart, Freo can legitimately sell the message it's time to take a stand.

Hey Cerra, feel like playing for North for the next few years or at the Blues where there has probably been plenty of work done through the year to line up a deal?

Push comes to shove, Freo might cave in the last minutes of trade week but maybe not. Unless Melbourne can convince his management they have a legitimate way of getting the deal done, Cerra will likely choose the extra $ and guarantee of a done deal at Carlton.
