Whatever stability was assumed to be provided by not moving on Liddle and Lloyd at the same time as Teague is clearly not being delivered, which would beg the question why there isn’t a press release tomorrow announcing their removal. Whatever promises were given re: graceful exits have now surely been superseded by this malicious leaking.

whatever ‘promises’ may have been made to Lyon, they can’t have been worth much if even he recognised Clarkson was a preferred (and sought after) option. And worth even less if scrutiny of his own behaviour in previous senior coaching roles was so intolerable to him.

What a shambles. And that's being kind.

This is pathetic, absolutely pathetic.

WTF is Sayers doing (sorry the buck stops with the President in this instance).

We are Carlton. ****ed the reset...

Sayers has been in the job for not even 3 weeks and people are already calling him not fit for the job as he tries to navigate the most difficult and challenging period our club has seen off the field in a long, long time.

Absolute tripe.

I suggest you check the facts. He has been on the board since 2012. Irrespective of the title he has held previously he has had hands all over this situation we are currently in. It’s simply unacceptable to promise the job to Lyon, allow him to public declare his want of the role and then change your mind and subject him to a process. He is just a continuation of what we have had for the last 20 years.

Except no one was promised anything. Any evidence of it actually happening?

It’s the absolute clearest and most logical explanation for what has occurred.

There is no other explanation that works in the bounds of reality. Unless you think Ross couldn’t get through an interview with 2 people that think highly of him (Parkin and Diesel) and 4 dipshits.

2 weeks in and Sayers is learning what it means to be the chairman in a voluntary role. He is used to wielding power as a chairman in business - in those circumstances his colleagues have no choice and must fall in line.

As a new Blues president he has less actual power - colleagues leak, background and wield power. Yet, the sh*t stops with him and he gets the heat, and blame for every mis-step and **** up the club makes. Steep learning curve for such an experienced businessman.

Given the ITK's running with "ross the boss" last Wed, it certainly appears that you're on the money.

They've got a whiff of what is going on and are trying to ambush it as best they can.

Sayers can't sack them yet as Cook will wait until the Cats bow out of the finals and a footy boss is pretty important right now given impending trade season and player contracts that need to be renewed etc. Whilst it would have been great to have them both gone last week, I guess they will be as soon as replacements are in place; however, until then they will probably look to unstable the place as much as possible and ensure that they keep their jobs.

Looks like a bit of Game of Thrones going on.

How do people believe this?

So Sayers just missed out on his preferred coaching target because Liddle and a Lloyd were on the coaching panel, but he will sack them in a few weeks.

Lloyd and Liddle will look to unstable the place as much as possible and ensure they keep their jobs?

How does that make sense? There was just a full footy department review, where the blowtorch was on their jobs, causing instability at this time, makes them look incompetent, causing instability when the eyes of the new president is on you, doesn’t help yourself cause.

As I head to bed, I’ll leave you with a comment shared with my old man tonight. Who is a 70 old man, life long Carlton supporter and a 40+ odd year member. He’s not taking this well - “debacle”, was the word he used.

I just said, have faith, if nothing else, have faith. Sayers is no fool.

Good night all. Have a bit of faith. Don’t be a fool, Luke.
