The fact that many here are guessing the identity of the miserable, non team oriented, player who refused a pay cut is why this sort of crap shouldn't be leaked.

Could be for a whole host of different reasons.

I'm not sure any club (other than Collingwood) would mismanage things to such a degree that they would ask their best players to take a pay cut mid-trade week, because it'll allow them to go after a player.

The fact this isn't on the front page of every news site around the country tells me we're probably reading far more into it than we need to be.

What if the future 1st brings back a future 2nd, 3rd or 4th that has been traded out?

I think you just need to restore balance. I dont know if you could do a traded back 4th round as that pick is worse than the 3rd we are missing, but it would be fine if we brought in a future 3rd or 2nd in the deal.

I think with out list too, the AFL would give us an allowance to deviate from the rules given we have taken multiple 1st round (and high 1st round) picks over the last 5-6 years. They did it for Geelong previously.

can we assume Cripps pay cut at resigning was 1 and maybe Harry resigned for less on the provision we get Cerra, the.

It might also be year on year the other 4 took a pay cut so that some were backended or front loaded etc without changing the contract amount.

Much too broad a statement to say they took pay cuts without being able to quantify what the actual numbers are.

but I am pumped that the players would be selfless in this way, if they translate that to the field then good things will happen.

I’m certain Nick will be looking at at least 1 more trade or perhaps re entering 1st round? We have a serious list review on going and probably 6 to 8 changes still over the next couple of seasons.

Think GWS will be holding onto Tom Green for dear life, very handy player.

Don't want a bar of Cogs now unless GWS are paying half his salary for the rest of his contract, or he's happy to renegotiate down to something in the realm of $600k.

Impey is versatile enough that he could actually be played on a wing, so he might be one to look at. Seems to be racking up the injuries of late though, which would have to be a cause for concern.

Offering a second for Sicily because of his injury would be like a club offering us a second for Charlie for the same reason. Waste of breath.

Trading out a fringe player for one of Mitchell/O'Meara/Wingard would be fine with me, because if gets us that experience boost right away at the cost of a player whose development seems to have stalled a bit, and leaves our early picks intact to replace the young player with someone else next year. I'd try for something like Setterfield and a future second for one of those three mentioned. Hawthorn get a talented young kid to try and rejuvenate, as well as a second rounder to take to the draft or package up to improve their draft position.

TBF, if you take off the blue tinted glasses for a moment, the truth is his value is not that high at all. Charlie's I mean.
