It's one thing to be fit, but to stack repeated athletic efforts, sprints and jumps and tackles on top of each other is a real point of difference.

Cotters can make it

Well said. Unsure if the amount of crap he gets is fair for his 20 games. I'll back him. I'm his No.1 fan ... :p

Having a look at Cottrells stats this year, he makes a lot of errors. 8 clangers from 13 touches against WC, 6 from 16 vs Ess, 5 from 12 vs WB. Whether it's just a confidence thing or not, he needs to get it out of his game to become a regular.

Development. These are the type of things you iron out in the VFL and get right before being promoted to regular AFL games. Like a lot of kids who get to this level, they can play, some more than others, but they need to be rounded out before they become AFL regulars. We used to do this very well but our obsession with rebuilds and no. 1 picks has made us lose focus on how to build success.

Not sure, I think Cottrell was probably always a little prone to errors before joining the club. We've been talking about poor development for over 10 years, nothing changes there.

You've got to feel for Cottrell who runs 15+ km/game yet averages less than 12 disposals per game across his career.

Is it a case of the club not knowing how to play through him, or the player not putting himself in the right positions to be played through?

Cotts is suffering from Callumchambersitis.

Sadly, it's a serious condition that claims too many AFL careers.

Apparently Billy Hartung has contacted him to see if he can offer some advice, which was a nice touch

Anyone heard anything about the vaccine status of two of our players?

just saw on the news there is a Carlton player refusing to get vaccinated but they wouldn’t disclose who…came here to see if anyone is in the know

Is an amazing stat. Running I.25kms per possession. That's crazy. Don't know the answers to either of your questions but they are bizarre numbers. If you can somehow harness that running power.
Make him a tagger and have ball-magnets take him to the ball.

Mod notice:

Reports have emerged tonight that one of our listed players has thus far refused the vaccine.

As this is a very divisive topic, we ask that you please avoid speculating on this board as to who the player is. Let's wait for the story to come out in full.

Please do not push us on this topic.

Thanks.

As an addendum to this, since the news broke last night I've seen discussions pop up in here around no fewer than 5 different players on our list.

Even if you think you might know who it is, you may very well be wrong. Best to shut up and keep it to yourself.

Please do not drag our players through the mud on this. It is most unhelpful and certainly completely unnecessary.

No speculation. No posting links to bullshit fan Twitter accounts. We'll all find out soon enough.
