Cant see this myself, couple of things go against it:

• Vossy and co have stated we are going to the draft this year, no more "big fish" for now (haven't used a first rounder since 2019).
• Baker is a WA boy (Cripps country actually) and rumour is both WA clubs will have decent crack.

Any particular reason? Do you think we have that spot covered or is it because of the 'Richmond' link.. similar to how a few here didn't want Saad due to the Essendon link?

Baker is a little rat like character, not the type of person I want at the club. Definitely more suited to a club like Richmond, Essendon or St Kilda.

so unless everyone is vilifying him, you won't be happy? him living by his personal choices and values is more important than the welfare of the sports team you have an interest in?

If Baker can capably play wing he’s worth pursuing, but he’s more a really solid flanker who can play as a high half forward or neatly skilled rebounding defender.

I'm not sure you've seen too many Richmond games this year if that's your view of him. He's spent plenty of time in the midfield and has had significant impact. He's as hard as a cat's head and leaves nothing in the tank. I reckon he would be the sort of player Vossy would love.

Would take him in a heartbeat - can play anywhere. But can't see how it would get done.

Don't believe the Baker rumours at all. Would cost >700k (after we have stated we cant afford to go after a big fish), a first round pick (after we stated we want to use our top picks at the draft) and doesnt fill a position of need.

Additionally why would he ditch Richmond the club that gave him a chance just to go to another Melbourne club? They can afford to pay him more then us too.

He’s played a more conventional midfield role when I have seen him run through - done a couple of defensive jobs reasonable well.

The wing is a more specialised position we need to address and I don’t think Baker has the tank to play that position on a full time basis.
