Meek would be a great pick up for the Hawks

Meek is beast of a man but I’m yet to be convinced he’s any good. IMO he was pretty average on the weekend in the WAFL final for Peel.

Interesting club selection too - I rate Reeves and imagine he’s their No.1 ruck - I thought West Coast, Geelong or St Kilda made more sense for him.

Yeah, see, you're seeing two completely different conversations and assuming they're the same.

Story 1: The AFL has signed off on clubs salary dumping players, allowing them to make what would otherwise be seen as a one-sided trade on the basis that salary space is more valuable than a late draft pick.

Story 2: Bowes has informed GC he's keen to explore a move, and GC are open to it because it would free up salary space they could use elsewhere.

This does not mean that GC are giving away Bowes and a pick for nothing. He's a quality player who missed a bit with injury, reckon they'll expect a mid second or thereabouts. Subject to a medical, I'd offer our future second and see if they're willing to deal.

Most of these guys gave us something that we either didn’t have, or that we had at a higher wage for no equivalent gain.

This... so much this. We paid 2.8 million over 5 years... for what? 67 games that were less than impressive.

The only thing that he ever did that got Carlton supporters out of their seats was the first goal in the 2013 final against Bitchmond.

That’s fine, I don’t see that as being the same as, we took these guys to get a discount on others.

I think it's pretty widely accepted that we took on contracts to get the likes of Plowman and Marchbank across cheaper than we otherwise may have been able to.

That they haven't turned out to be superstars isn't exactly relevant or contradictory to that.

Wow, this Bryne news out of nowhere. He was a favourite of mine when he was out on the field. I do recall he had some injury issues when he was in our list. Does anyone have any idea about how his body has held up over the last few years?

Apparently the Physio at South Melb, was short staffed and not taking appointments so a close friend of mine booked the Vietnamese Massage Parlor in West Sunshine. Instead of the customary thin plaster walls at the Physio, the massage beds are separated by multicolored curtains.

10 minutes into his massage he heard a female voice next door say "welcome big boy Hally, your groin feel better today". The Lady the proceeded to talk footy and commented about how handsome he looked at the Brownlow Medal. They then specifically talked about Carlton and she kept on asking the man if he intended to stay on etc. It is here where my friend realized the man was Big H.

To cut a long Story short he told me that it will be a happy ending and H will be staying.

Disagree, Dow was signed off the back of being a pick 2 and potential and Fog was brought across from Geelong and we were not the only suitor at the time so the offer must have been decent.. Average AFL wage is $371k.

Yeah bur the average AFL wage is 350 because 10% of the league are on 500+, the rest are on 250 or less. The floor is like 180 odd.. so across 800 players for the average to be 350 means there are a shit tonne on 250 or less.
