I reckon Harmes could be a good fit for us - bit of a harder edge around the contest. Guessing it'd also be a budget issue. Also gives us a bit more cover as I'm nervous about the type of injuries we've seen with Hewett and Kennedy.
Melbourne lust mgr on trade radio says harmed going no where…harmes told them as much this morning.

Teams I’m comfortable Carlton should beat next season:
North
Hawks
Freo
GWS
WC
Dogs
Saints
Ess
Ade
GC

Teams that should provide a test

Coll
Rich
Port
Syd
Melb

Teams we will struggle against

Bris
Geel

Still keeps us in the 6-10 bracket - let’s hope we get all our double up v the first group.

Top 4 or it’s a wasted year.

Taranto doesn't play for Carlton.
I mean the Taranto to Tigers :) Why is the good media in this instance around the Taranto to Richmond move, but not the H extension? They have essentially signed the same contract length!

I get that it's for clicks and Carlton supporter outrage haha

Fire up the 'Welcome to Carlton Blake Acres'. Seems imminent and confirmed now he'll be acquired for a third rounder.

Just great business. Geelong-esq almost (no surprise with Cook on board).

Early takers for compo? I'm hoping 3rd round (or higher) so around that 47 mark but wouldn't be surprised if they * us (again).

3rd rounder - all the talk all along was a 3rd rounder, the club and AFL worked together to allow Jones to be on a list in 2022 and to me had an agreed outcome of a 3rd rounder, all the talk was we would trade Acres for this said 3rd rounder.....

id be very surprised if it isnt a 3rd rounder

Kemp is an attacking player by nature and his skill base is better suited between the arcs or as a roaming forward - no doubt he could play defense- but he is much more capable than 'just' a stopping role. Will be interesting to see how he goes with a full pre-season under his belt and more time after recovering from his ACL and other injuries.

Agreed.

There's also, to my eye, a bit of inconsistency with his field kicking (particularly the short kicks) that could be punished heavily when bringing the ball out of the backline.

But his strength in the contest and through a tackle, his marking, his work by hand, his willingness to step his man and take the game on - those are all real weapons we can use in the front half.

While I'd love for us to make a play for Tarryn Thomas as a predominantly high half forward, there's a lot pointing to Kemp being able to play that same role. I don't see Jack Martin being left out of the seniors, nor would I ever wish injury on a player, but if Martin misses a chunk of footy this coming season then I'd love to see Kemp slot into his position.

I know exactly what you meant but you missed my point - 'he doesn't play for Carlton', hence positive reporting on the Taranto move to Richmond. ;)

CARLTON has agreed a deal for Fremantle wingman Blake Acres.

As revealed by AFL.com.au last week, the Blues have parted with a future third-round pick to secure the Dockers wingman with the paperwork set to be lodged with the AFL on Tuesday afternoon.
