Must be watching a different player because IMO he’s easily beat 22.

Ideally he plays more permanent 3rd tall forward… like the… Gunston type role.

This x 100. He is literally the only forward we have that leads at the ball carrier. Provides us with a great link between the midfield and forward that was sorely missed when he had to move into the ruck due to injuries. He is also a great overhead mark and puts on great F50 pressure for someone his height. He is locked in my best 22

Last year north didnt bid on Daicos because they wanted JHF to be the no.1 draft pick.....just dumb. And daicos was annoyed becasue he didnt go no.1.....

Great overhead mark is a stretch IMO.
He's an admirable player but he's rather limited overall.
He's the only player on our list that our supporters trip over themselves to create a role for.

I agree Cringle. I think if we settle him in a specific position, he will show even more consistency. Unfortunately has been a little bit of a Mr Fix It with the ruck and sporadically been playing other positions too. Third tall forward is where I’d love him to be too. He is one who is a barometer for us and what he might not have in technical skill sometimes (a great overhead mark tbh), he makes up with his footy IQ.

The beauty of our list at the minute is we finally have a great deal of depth if we stay fit and it’s great that we are having to deal with tough decisions of who gets a spot in the 22 now, rather than knowing who our best 22 are every week.

JHF was an absolute failure (he never wanted to go to north and was never staying) but if they get the trade right, they could get some really good talent through the door this year (and hopefully players who want to play there and know each other and are good mates)

Plus what they got from Freo for free and probably a few others yet.

He's listed at 194cm, if anything he plays shorter than his height rather than providing an aerial threat.
Due to how often is he listed as a viable option in the midfield or defence despite minimal exposed form or transferable skillsets for either.

My point is he is not a key forward type yet still has a strong overhead mark. The fact he plays a bit smaller than his height benefits us because of the pressure he adds to F50. I definetly agree with you however that he is not viable as a defender or midfielder. He should be our third forward who provides that link between the midfield and the forward.

Surely not our future first rounder as next years first round is supposed to bat much deeper than this years, as they are raving about how many great under 17 year old kids there are coming through and quite a few of them played in the championships that Vic metro just won. Hang onto our first Austin!!!

Bont's manager has been in contact with at least 1 club in the last week. One of those clubs may or may not have been Carlton. It may or may not have been Bulldogs.
