Absolutely still believe the club ballsed up the rebuild when SOS and the 2015 draftees joined the club. The likes of Simpson, Murhpy, Gibbs and Kruezer all should have been shown the door right then. I'll never be convinced it was right to retain them.

We would have bad as bad as Melbourne 2008-2012 if we got rid of all our mature players.

Granted we slipped back to last in 2018, I’m glad we took a more moderate approach - and we still moved a couple of players on after 2015.

Our senior players might not have been incredible leaders but we needed them out there for a couple of years while we were turning over a huge chunk of our list.

Hawthorn are going to be awful for a couple of years IMO.

They were brave at times this year and have some good young players coming through but it’s tough to replace quality onballers quickly.

The midfield is where you don’t want to lack senior bodies and the Hawks now have very few.

Eyes firmly shut I see. He's heading into his eighth season and shown virtually nothing in that time bar a quarter here, maybe a half there, occaisionally. His body of work in his previous 7 seasons doesn't warrant another one year deal, IMO. As I said, absolute lunacy.

A fully mature player coming back from an ACL who has kicked multiple goals 7 times in 41 games and has had up to 29 touches in a game playing as a wing/half forward.

Versus

Pick 66 that will be taken after about 10 teams have passed on their last pick.

If David Cuningham plays one game in 2023 we will probably be better off than drafting someone with pick 66.

• trade in Ladhams to be our number one ruck.

I have hope for Dow, he's shown a bit but been pushed aside for Setterfield, which I think was shit. Dow hasn't been given anywhere near the chances to prove himself that Setters had. Now maybe he'll get 2 or 3 games in a row to adjust.

So looks like Austin is gonna try and trade up move up in the draft close to draft night, otherwise get another top 30 pick. Very interested to see what takes place
