Richmond has informed Jake Aarts, Sydney Stack, Riley Collier-Dawkins and Will Martyn that they will not be offered contracts in 2023.

Wouldn't mind picking up Stack. Seems like a low risk high reward pick. Not sure how many free spots we have but could be a good option
Stack would be worth a shot as a free hit, purely on talent...

Cal Twomey is reporting that Brett Ratten and St Kilda have parted ways.

Bit shocked by this.

In before someone suggests picking up Stack and bringing Betts across as a coach/mentor to help him get his life back on track....
Recon Voss and Power would be perfect as a coach/mentor to help him get his life back on track...

This is terrible news at this current moment but the best for him long term.
This basket case of a club was only going to make things worse.
Fancy signing a bloke and 2 months later ‘parting ways’. What did John like to call them.:p

As if you wouldn't be rapt if we did that...

Would love Betts back at the club in a mentoring/coaching role for all of our players. Was the ultimate pro, has a wealth of knowledge on how to prepare mentally and physically for games and how to handle the pressures of AFL life, media included. Also just an all round great guy and great for club culture. Many times during the year he mentioned the Blues as ‘us’ or ‘we’ so his heart still beats blue.

For a person of Sydney Stack's talent, it would be wise to investigate. If as stated above that he is unemployable, then so be it, no harm done.
However, with the soft cap being raised, hire Eddie Betts back in a similar role to what he has done for Stengle and if he can turn Stack around, then is this a possibility?
Happy to be proven wrong. Nobody at the start of the year had Stengle for 50+ goals and AA combined with a premiership. DFA with caveats?

Not really.

2nd time around, sacked. Same narrative

Lovely guy. Been through tonnes. Feel for him but fairly sure he's just a bang average (or worse) AFL coach.

He'll be getting paid a shit tonne by st kilda to coach against them for the next 2 years.

Presumably will cost another club barely anything to put him on as assistant and Saints pay the excess bill.

Not sure I want him returning to be assistant with us.
