I wouldn't be against Schache if all he cost was a list spot. Probably a similar output to Omac, except he is more durable. Can play back, ruck, forward, and would be a good target in the 2s

Agreed. We need an additional KPF to be a focal point in our 2s and backup for H and Charlie in the 1s. Really good key forwards are rare as hens teeth so arent going to move to us to be back-ups and one we draft probably won't suit either purpose for a number of years. Schache with his versatility would suit perfectly.

Lol, how the mighty have fallen. Sadly word is Nixon is good mates and "business" partners with Kouta.

regardless of all that - point is he has a lot more relevant footy connections than the people on here regardless of how much of a knob he might be. He dropped a big post on what hes heard on a lot players from just "being linked" to "most believe its done" hes not dropping TB style lines for a story

Depends if Dodo gets involved lol
you would if it was for a player, dow and or setterfield makes sense for the toddler sized midfield. Makes me wonder it could be an easier swap with minimal picks for Francis, but pretty sure losing francis would leave a hole in their squad as well so im more inclined to believe it would be for one of the previously mentioned toddler sized midfielders...which i dont really think we need unless one can play wing or we are shifting Walsh to a wing

Disagree, he totally is dropping those for a story. He is desperate to stay relevant and generate some income whilst he still can. He's just about to clock 60.

yep, trying to keep relevant any way possible - and basically failing at every turn.

one of the biggest fall from grace in footy circles ever the whole schoolgirl saga.

and the drugs, and allegedly "beating" his ex "girlfriend", and now allegedly (but captured on video) "beating" a journo.

Never ends for this tosser.

Duursma would definitely interest me, but given it sounds like Acres is pretty much done, and there's been nothing contrary to the mid-year reports of Sholl to Carlton, I'm uncertain about what starting gig we're offering Duursma to pry him out of Port. If he's frustrated about lack of opportunity, where are we slotting him in?

Fisher's spot on the forward flank would suit, but is Duursma a genuine upgrade? Better in the air, for sure, is that enough to make the swap though?

Boyd, Weiters, Doc
Saad, Young, Gov
Acres, Cerra, [LOB/Sholl]
[Pitto/TDK], Cripps, Walsh
Duursma, [TDK/JSOS], Martin
Motlop, McKay, Curnow
I/C: Marchbank, Hewett, Kennedy, Williams
EMG: Newman, Kemp, Fisher, Durdin

Don't hate it.

Acres for 28.
Duursma for Jones compo (36? Feels like unders, maybe a future pick downrade as well?).
Sholl for 64.

Maybe flick Dow or Setters to get back into the second or third round.

Definitely helps address our run & carry and ball movement, that's for sure.

How is Duursma worth less than Acres? At least swap those picks around and it still may not be enough for Duursma

Talk is that Tarryn Thomas is not happy at the Kangas.....?

Might be old news. Had a big offer from the Sun's I think. With Clarkson's arrival, he looks to be staying.

Basing it on Acres being best 22 but squeezed to make room for Jackson, while Duursma appears to be fringe at Port, who may need to clear the decks for both Rioli and Dunkley.

Could potentially swap those picks though. 28 and a future late swap for Duursma, 36ish if we get it (Jones) for Acres.

Can't see Port letting him go for that. Still 2 years to run.

Yeah, perhaps not. Just working through the rumour. If they're making a play for Rioli (and paying overs by the sounds of it) and Dunkley (who will command a long term deal on very good money) then they may have to make a call on one or two fringe players though.

That being said, he was taken at Pick 18 and hasn't cemented a spot, so maybe a mid/late second is right.

Not looking good for Marchy and setters

Who knows, they might be wanting 2-3 years, club only offering 1. They might need more time to reconsider and accept or either side is waiting for the other to blink.

Haha Business.meme

I reckon both have been offered contracts but have been asked to take massive pay cuts and probably only 1 year deals. Guys like that (young former high draft picks) would have been on overs for us for years and not thrilled to now sign for minimum chips.

Compare that to Owies, Cottrell, Obrien, Durdin, Honey, Boyd who were probably all happy to sign for close to base wages just to continue their careers.

I find it hard to believe we would delist Marchbank after investing so much into getting him right (though it would fit the Voss narrative around tough calls and resilient players) and Setters after his last few games.

All just my assumptions of course. Any ITKs heard anything about Setterfield, Marchbank or Cunningham contracts?
