Yeah Carazzo had a good game, I guess those basic skill errors he has been making for a few years now means nothing, and shirking the issue as well means nothing, hope to never see Carazzo play for Carlton gain.

interesting watching the i nterview of fletcher and judd after the game. Bombers were happy with the result (well as happy as you can be with a draw) while judd was shattered. Clearly said we played terrible and not good enough. Pretty much how everyone would see outcome with the bombers losing 2 players.

Got to give credit to ratts for his game plan to shut down essendon. We didnt let them move the ball quick and get the run on that they have in the first 3 rounds. Thought he played them well. Too bad we had to many passengers.

Collins cannot play next week. Give me ellard/lucas instead, please. Hendo looked terrible but i will give him one more week. Betts needs to trip to the ants, 3 poor games in a row. Carrazzo turns it over way too much but he had 11 tackles and kept stanton pretty quiet.

Positives were some leser lights standing up. How good is yarran off the HBF? star and silky. Curnow i thought was our best 4 qtr player. Duigan was great down back, some nice marks. White killed hurley. Blighty quiented down after the 1/4 about his love child hurley as he didnt get the ball. Jamo was also good. Robbo solid. Murphy great after a sluggish first qtr, led from the front. Simmo was great but ONE costly error.Scotto solid, laidler solid, kicks the ball well. Judd quiet but tough in close.

Gibbs was poor. Noticed last week and this week he is just throwing the ball on the boot. I think this is a new thing and it is terrible. Looks soft and needs to work harder.

Next week: Ins: Bower, Lucas, Ellard Out: Collins, Betts, Walker

Everybody who cheered Hendo when he was subbed can piss off. Who are we, Richmond?

The delivery to Henderson (and all forwards) was atrocious in the first half. Players would just bomb without looking. The second half when players actually lowered their eyes and looked for targets was when we got back in the game.

Many around me had it in for Hendo though, disgraceful. The bloke behind me had a go at him for being useless when he led one way and Robinson kicked it the other way straight to his opponent.

JR had a shocker today. I'm not sure he is 100%, just seemed to be going at 3/4 pace today. Carrazzo - no more needs to be said.

I thought White played very well, particularly when he was on Hurley. Shut him right out of the game. Duigan was stellar, as was Warnock. And kudos to Scotland on his great game. I'm not his biggest fan usually but was very solid today.

Really disappointing, we should have won, no doubt about it......even though we were pretty ordinary today we should have held on for the win, esp with them being 1 man down for a half

We just had far too many ordinary players today, only a few players can hold their heads high

Unfortunately I think they can gain more from this match than we did, we must put pay to the Crows next week

Garlett is a gun, but seriously, what a dumb decision. In such a tight game, you've got to go back and eat up as much of the clock as possible.

Those bagging Waite clearly have NFI. He was a one-man show down there and he got absolutely zero support from Henderson and Hampson. Hampson is seriously a defenders dream - they have no reason to pay him any respect and can just run off him as they please.

Thought White and Jamison were excellent down back.

Carrazzo makes me so angry. Why does he always have to try and thread the impossible pass?! PLAY WITHIN YOUR ****ING LIMITATIONS FOR ****S SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Betts completely anonymous yet again. Gibbs nowhere to be found when the game was on the line.

Thought Scotland was very good all day, as was Curnow. Warnock rucked well and competed ferociously on the ground.

Yarran and Duigan also excellent.

We'll be back in the middle of the ladder again after this...back in the hunt for top4 with too many others. We could have really set ourselves up.

Our inability to hold possession for more than 30seconds in pressure situations is baffling. Am never comfortable during a game unless we're 30+ points up at 3qtr time.....but then again, elim final 2009

There is bad and then there is Hendo, seriously, Sharelle McMahon would have at least competed. That looked really bad, if you don't want to be out there, hand the jumper to someone who does. And how does thecoaching staff just sit there while this happens. At least get him wide and drag his opponent away from the action instead of them taking marking practice on him.

We should really be happy with the draw, because if Windowlicker and Dempsey didn't go down we would have been heading for a an 8 goal mauling.

my thoughts for the game can be summed up in four words......

we should have won

it was a terrible display by a number of what i consider second rate players thats cost us the game. players such as Collins and Laidler that could not get games at previous clubs and carlton picking up the dregs. bring in some players like Joeseph and Ellard, players that are hard at teh ball.

hendo was shocking and needs at least 3 or 4 more games n the reserves to gain some form.

some positives Duigan played his best ever game, curnow stood up again but i think we were lucky to get the draw

Ellard will most likely be cut or be looking for a new home not because of him being a poor player.I think he has a 1 year contract.The problem is opportunity Robinson,Curnow,Simpson,Murphy,Judd and Gibbs are keepers in the side.

Ellard spot is if he can take a forward pocket and be used in the midfield also or replace the unreplacable turn over king.

If Ratts wants to keep his job at the end of the year, then he will have to drop Carrots on exposed form. You cannot keep playing someone who obviously isnt playing at their best.

Plus the shock of being dropped might just push Carrots to pick up his game again and get back on top of things.

Of course you can. Many players today did not play at their best. If all our players played at their best, we would have won by 10 goals. Carrots was far from our worst today. FAR FAR from our worst. And I doubt there is much cause for more than 3 changes. Carrots would be very unlikely to be one of them and doesnt deserve the call for it. Collins and Hammer on the other hand are not playing well enough to keep their spots. IMO. But its just my op, I am not witness to everything the MC is so I dont ever second guess or question their selections.

Ok his disposal efficiency was down a tad (67%) but he had more possessions and a higher efficiency than Gibbs today, should he be dropped too? I think we need to calm down on the calls for Carrots to be dropped. Smacks of whipping boy stuff we saw a couple of years back with JR.

Judd was shitty because he expects excellent and toughness, hlaf the other losers don't. If only Carazo, henderson, Betts, Walker and a few other passengers had the same hunger and standards.

Our start to this game was sad, very sad.

Lets be honest here - if the bombers had not lost two players, we may well have lost by 50 points.

Our forward line and structure is utterly appalling. It is beyond be how it has been so bad since before Lance Whitnall was swapping with Deluca. It's like we are still feeling our way and experimenting. I mean WTF ? I could not even tell someone what our forward line is ? Its just insanity.

Without Garlett and Yarran - we would be bottom 4.

Watson has shown some fantastic efforts, Thornton is one of my most hated players - still should be in the team ahead of some of the people i watched today.

Here is the basic - undeniable truth - all eyes are firmly on Ratten, and as pointed out in this thread the selection committee. Some very poor decisions being made there.

Casboult is out for the year more likely for us as his out for 6-8 weeks so i doubt he would make it to play for Carlton this season.He would built his remaining season in the VFL and would have to be doing amazing things to get selected while being out for two months and never played before for us.

Ratten picks them , Rattens got to take the heat !
Why in the last quarter when essendon had been 2 men down since the 1st term were we slowing the game down ?
We should have been told to take them on and run them into the ground , surely we had the advantage in fresher legs ???
As for our forward structure , well , seeing is believing !
As stated in previous weeks , Ratten has a lot on the line , if he insists on his conservative path in selection and a structure and gameplan dont suddenly appear

Give Hendo a chance, look at how atrocious we were when Roo came back last year, look how good Richmond were when Jack was off the ground last week, look at how Adelaides structure fell apart last week when Tippett returned.

It takes awhile to get the balance right between mids taking a shot, and looking for your big target/s I50.

I think Eddie has got confused in recent weeks and doesn't know if he is a leading FF or a crumber. He needed to be around the feet of Henderson today, there were a lot of crumbing opportunities deep.

Anyway, my 2 cents, I'm not particularly looking forward to playing you guys in a fortnight.

Stats lie.

What they don't show is how he kills momentum by running in circles. They don't show how his team mates find themselves out of position because he has stopped running and decided to go the other way around his opponent. They don't show how he puts team mates under pressure by choosing the wrong option or via poor skill execution. The stats show that his possessions were effective even though the recipient of his bad handball gets tackled or has to rush their kick.

No one can question his endeavour, but he has become too costly to our side with the way footy is played these days. Ellard offers much more upside than Carrazzo as a defensive mid. Ellard can shut down an opponent, is a great tackler - just like Carrazzo - but has much better skills. Straight swap please.

Agree - MC need to send a message. I can understand why we need to persist with Hampson, but imo Betts and Collins should be dropped. Armfield and Lucas in.
