Just finished watching the replay since Sunday nights game live, thought I’d get some more perspective on Cincotta’s head to head role on Merrett and a clearer understanding of their ‘missed goals’
Merrett had 21 game possessions, 9 of these were not on Cincotta they were on other direct opponents 7 centre bounces and 2 on Walsh at the back of the square, most of the CB possessions he got were through his direct opponent drifting into the contest, he stayed back leaving him completely alone…
Cincotta directly head to head discounting the centre square possesses held him to 12 disposals while kicking 2 last quarter goals, 1 on Merrett to top it all off…
As far as their 16 points, breakdown was 5 rushed 2 touched and 3 from quick run/snap types that were 50/50 shots that go either way, 6 set shots that were all definitely kickable…
Thought and mentioned on the night that we controlled the game except for the 3rd quarter although we stood up defensively well…
Big shout out to Hewey Boydy and Kempy who i couldn’t fit into my votes but all were great and had big impacts on the night…
