Haha, surely if Sheeds wants to give Hird a blowie he can just go to his house and see him.

Its not a big deal though. The board has selected the coach, id rather him have a whinge in the media now than in June next year. I'm sure they'll bring him into the board room and tell him how it is.

Maybe Sheeds will vote for Hird CEO now.

Essendon fans whenever Sheedy speaks

“This is what happens when you bring new people into the club" - Sheeds, today, on the day we bring in a new, outside coach

If that doesn’t neatly encapsulate the problem of our club admiring the view up its own bunghole way more than it should have for far too long and in particular Sheedy’s perspective, then nothing else will.

Didn't Sheeds once play for Richmond?

Wasn't he once a "new person brought into the club?"

good point

I was going to say something similar to this. Sheedy has framed the statement as if it was a lie from your board when it doesn’t read that way at all to me.

I read “fully endorsed” as the board agreed to all the recommendations put to them ie coach, contract etc.

It’s sad to do move past a club legend, but surely his time in a position of any power and influence within the club needs to be over.

I’m not gonna lie and say I wish you the best with Scott, but I think most outsiders would have him as the best of the options available

Please give Brad Scott a clear run at it (his 2nd chance at AFL level). Sheedy has to go as that is toxic you can't have a board member come out and say that publicly (or privately ideally) as things hit the fan hard when there is not harmony. For good on field performance, you need a good behind the sciences environment so get the toxic board member out of EFC. Sheedy goodbye!

Honestly, I'm surprised and impressed by the nearly-unanimous agreement here that Sheedy has acted unprofessionally with his comments.

I thought there'd be some Sheedy/Hird loyalists defending him, but there really hasn't been much of that.

Well done, Bombers.

No offence oppo fans, I'm sure you're all lovely with the best of intentions.

But I'm starting to feel like I'm not on the Essendon board anymore given there's three posts above this in a row that are not Essendon fans plus several on the previous pages and in other threads ^^ and this is something of a problem as I come here to see what Essendon people think about stuff.

There are a few but its pretty minor, but between here and Blitz the 2 biggest EFC forums, Sheedys comments did not go down well. I could probably count on one hand the amount that supported Sheeds comments (and ones I could almost predict would)

We at least have the cognitive dissonance to separate Hird and his merits and Sheedy’s progressing unravelling.

For the most part they’re not a joint ticket.
