Dear Kevin
Thank you for being a part of some wonderful footballing memories you helped me and my family enjoy from 1981 to 2001. Our club did not know how to win when you came and you gave that gift to our club.
i hope you do not forget the thankless work Billy Stephen and Barry Davis did to initially teach our young players and I hope you do not forget that you inherited players such as Watson, madden, Danihers, vanderhaar, salmon, neagle, hawker, harvey, Thompson, merrett plus a host of local kids in the last day of zoning such as mercuri, Misiti, alessio, calthorpe and olerenshaw.
in this magical time you coached four premierships- hawthorn won five.
you put a spotlight on indigenous players, highlighted Anzac Day and dreamed up Dreamtime at the g.
However Kevin, you are now seriously tarnishing your legacy.
you are not bigger than our wonderful club and now is our time to be united.
it is not the time for you to put your self and your beliefs in front of the club.
it is time for you to leave and not come back.
drink wine, enjoy your family and stay healthy.
you stayed too long at our footy club once- please do not do it again as I want my two children savour an essendon premiership however I do not think it can happen while you have any tangible connection to our club.
‘Thanks for the memories,

Sorry to intrude but surely rule number #1 in this situation for you guys is to present a united front regardless of what goes on behind closed doors.

Sheedy's just undermined that and not helped B Scott at all.

By the way - a bit jealous. I wanted Scott at the Blues this time last year. I reckon he's a good get.

I think Sheedy has to be gone now, completely delusional in his self importance. A remnant of the past. Since when has anyone on a club board publicly disclosed their vote on a coaching panel that went against a newly appointed coach? He's going to be more disruptive than useful. Also will make extricating the barnacle Dodoro easier as well

It might turn out that the reason Sheeds flipped to the group of six was because Rutten wanted the board's approval to sack Dodoro.

Of all the shit that has happened to this footy club over the past 6 weeks this about take the cake for me. I’m embarrassed nearly beyond words. The day our new coach talk for the first time in red and black, as a bomber person fronts the media. Grandpa, senile that out of date sheedy pops up to put the club in the negative media wave again. I’ve lost all respect for me (the little I had left)

None of you respect him on the board and now his dumb comments are the end the world.

The interesting thing is that he does appear to have manipulated this rather masterfully. I suspect he got dangerously close to realising his goal.

The vote was 6-1 was for Scott not exactly close
By manipulating it masterfully to force himself to be axed rather than resign, yes he has played it to perfection

season 13 GIF

Now off you Kev, too many red wines.

Is there a mechanism for removing a board member? I thought part of the point of being elected is that the members decide, not so they can be easily removed until members finally elect the preferred candidate…

Someone mentioned Corporations Act somewhere, not sure if that’s a thing.

Although maybe they can revoke his life membership, can’t be a board member if you’re not a member of the club?

Would be easiest obviously if he resigned.

This is spot on.
Love Kevin Sheedy (and for the record James Hird), but it's time for Sheedy to go now. Blind loyalty above due process. Followed by the urge to air dirty laundry in public.

This is not the collective unity of a director of the Essendon FC the members would expect.

I think that's called affirmation.

The interesting thing is that he does appear to have manipulated this rather masterfully. I suspect he got dangerously close to realising his goal.

This is called delusion. The percentage that his vote represented on the board is probably much more generous than the public's opinion on why hiring Hird would have been the right move. Maybe he convinced someone to at least give Hird an interview, but it sounds like that's as close as he got.

Why should he gain respect? Because he coached us to four flags? Time to move ****ing on. **** him for trying to cause division to the club. Fall on your sword with honor, well what’s left.
