Time's ticking nerds, so let's get straight to the monkey.

1677205948331.png

So what happened? Well, the Swamprats, Wonders & Warriors all lost their first games of the season, the Dragons rise to first place after three wins on the trot, Roy keeps on getting kissed on the peen, the Phoenix won their first game consigning the bye-having Furies to the bottom of the table.

And on an individual standpoint, this:

1677206224119.png

Young DragoDelph has pulled away to a massive 7 kick lead in the Little Spoon, which is even more impressive as none of his closest rivals were permabanned this week. His 24 frees for (at an average of 6 per game no less) sees him well clear of CakeEater and Zevon who both sit on 17, one ahead of ex-rookie Dazjack and two ahead of Electronic_Renaissance & tigs2010

beez is also puling away from the pack in the Big Spoon, his 12 conceded frees has him three clear of RonnieRaven & Tarkyn_24 and four clear of these people: Bovo Falconista Ligma Robertio SaintsSeptember & Shueygod

I'm off like granny's pants. Seeya next week nerds.

Wow, time flies when you don't give a sh*t about your threads hey nerds? We have a couple of weeks to catch up on, so get your gloves out and let's start catching...

iron gloves bob.png

Of the top 3 teams, the Swamprats and Roys won while 4th placed Gold City knocked off the 1st placed Dragons. This saw the lizards fall to 4th with their victors rose to third, Roy remained in second after a one kick win over the Warriors but the biggest winners in round 5 were the Sin Citizens. They destroyed the Demons 23-8 to rise to the top of the heap thanks to a whopping 133.9%.

At the other end of the table, the Furies picked up their first win of the season over the Wonders by 22 kicks to 17. This saw them jump over the bye-having Bombers from the bottom of the ladder, giving us the paradox of the Babylonians occupying the bottom of the free kick table and the top of the qooty table in the same week. Conversely the Swamprats are top of the free kick table in round 5 yet second last in the qooty table. What this tells us is that the qumpires hate Baghdad but they're not fussed by it, and the Sinners are not thankful for being kissed on the peen.

Now to the spoons:

1678422086027.png

If receiving free kicks was a video game (well it kinda is but stay with me here), DragoDelph would have clocked it. Oldmate is head, shoulders and torso ahead of Zevon in the Little Spoon, who has 22 frees for. This is six behind the leader but three ahead of teammate tigs2010 in third place, who in turn is two kicks ahead of Royal pastry CakeEater and Furies carpenter omgfridge at this particular juncture.

Despite not conceding any free kicks, beez is still leading the Big Spoon tally on 12 kicks. Old Fart Robertio was the big mover, conceding three frees to rise to second place on 11 kicks, while the chasing pack of Agent93 (who conceded six frees in the round) Bovo Falconista Ligma RonnieRaven Shueygod & Tarkyn_24 are one kick further behind.

Stay sitting down...

It was easy come, easy go for the Swamprats when it came to leading the free kick table. In the top of the table matchup with the Roys they were no match for the perennial free kick receivers, going down 9-12 to relinquish top spot to the monkey men. The Royals were unable to capitalise on the Sin Citizens' slip as they too went down 9-13 to the Warriors. The Wonders & Phoenix also had seven kick wins over the Gumbies & Bombers respectively, keeping the Babylonians stuck to the bottom of the table. The team they replaced at the bottom in the Furies had their second win in as many games, this time a resounding 26-13 shellacking of the Dragons.

An interesting fact about round six - the six teams to win the free kick count also won the qooty. Coincidence or conspiracy? You be the judge.

Individually, round six looked like this:

1678425628199.png

What the heck is going on at Dragon Island? There's some real Jekyll & Hyde energy around the place, as they lead both the Little Spoon for most frees received and the Big Spoon for most frees given. The former is still DragoDelph who looks like choking harder than Supersuns did a few seasons ago, receiving nil frees for in round six. New board mod Zevon received three frees as part of his sign on bonus to halve the lead from last week. omgfridge picked up five to join tigs2010 in third place on 22 kicks, while long time friend of the Spoon Millky95 also picked up 5 frees to end the round in fifth place, one behind Tigger and the appliance.

On the other side of the tracks, it was Drago's mentor and Bailey Banfield enthusiast serial_thrilla (Simpsons screenshot incoming) who has come from nowhere to storm into the Big Spoon lead on 14 frees against, thanks to an obscene seven (7) free kicks conceded in round six. Falconista and Ligma conceded three frees apiece to sit one adrift of thrills, while Warrior winger Agent93 joins the reformed beez (who conceded no frees for the second week in a row) in equal fourth place, two kicks off the lead.

Happy long weekend to those who observe.

Another round is in the books, so come with me nerds as we take another step towards discovering who will join the pantheon of outstanding free kick givers & receivers. Roll the tape, Bob.

* tape rolling noises *

1679024029097.png

Roy picked up a fifth win in a row to retain their one game lead from the Swamprats. Both teams had the biggest wins of the round, with the Sin Citizens beating the Cocaine Bears 25-18, while the gorillas beat the Babylonians 15-9.

They have pulled away from the chasing peloton, which is pretty much the rest of the competition. Four points separate the third placed Warriors and the 12th placed Furies, with eight teams all locked up on 12 points. And then there's the Bombers, stranded on the bottom with one win from 6 games.

1679029963909.png

The top two players in the Little Spoon in DragoDelph & Zevon both received zero free kicks in round 7 (one due to a bye and the other due to laziness), allowing the chasing pack to catch up with them. The Dragons still leads, however that lead is now one single kick as Millky95 & omgfridge received 6 and 5 free kicks respectively. Warren has dropped to fourth with 25 frees for, with teammate tigs2010 one kick behind in fifth place.

serial_thrilla shared the same fate as Drago, which has given Falconista the chance to join him atop the Big Spoon rankings. A group of six players are breathing down the leaders' necks, as Agent93 beez Brick Loosener Ligma Mrs Turbo & Shueygod are all poised to cash in on any slip ups from the front two.

There you go.

@DragoDelph & @Zevon both received zero free kicks in round 7 (one due to a bye and the other due to laziness)
What are you talking about mate, we didn’t have the bye this weekend…

Shut up and take my stats.

1679633060352.png

Roy's pulling away, and now has a two game lead over the Swamprats who lost to the now third placed Wonders by 7 kicks. Nine teams are within a game of each other, from 3rd placed Wonders to 11th placed Demons, with the Furies & Bombers down the bottom. There were two draws in the week, between the Dragons & Warriors and the Royals & Bombers.

The individual stuff is as follows:

1679633694259.png

A couple of big movers in the Little Spoon, with Friend of the Free Kick Millky95 earning five frees and Lupine Overlord Zevon picking up a mammoth seven to share the lead on 32 for the season. Former leader DragoDelph and Furious beer holder omgfridge could only manage two each to sit third & fourth respectively. Then there's a gap to Cubs2Lions & tigs2010 who are in fifth place, five kick off fourth.

Cantankerous ClarkeM conceded four frees in round 8 to rise to the top of the summit in the Little Spoon alongside serial_thrilla with both on 16 frees against. The chasing pack, all in equal third place, are two kick behind and consist of Agent93 Falconista Ligma Robertio and Zoops

Onwards and upwards nerds. Maybe sideways. But always twirling. Twirling. Twirling.
