I don't think Crows are allowed to have official training sessions during this break period for the players are they?

On the surface maybe. Personally I dont rate the club's handling of this irrespective. If there were issues, they should have positioned themselves to mitigate risk, not stick a For Sale sign on his head.

St Kilda appear to have guaranteed him $700k by 4 years with a softish trigger. The club has managed to convince lots of supporters that the Saints were the only ones offering a contract to Brad close to that. Even otherwise intelligentish posters have fallen in behind this flawed logic. Contrary to what Kelly said a few weeks ago, we're flying completely blind, the only offer we see is the lodged offer. And we're to now believe that we have in depth knowledge of all offers that were tabled. And that nobody would entertain a trade had we matched and Brad didn't sign?

So Saints the only club interested at the price but under no circumstances will part with 17. No other clubs interested at any price for any pick. For the footballer that is 26yo Brad Crouch. That's a pretty tough sell, I wonder if anything completely unverifiable could make it easier. Tell you what, I've got an idea, and how about we tack on some AFL screwing us over, that hasn't failed us yet.

You didn't need to be Einstein to work out it was always going to be struggle to get Band 1 Compo with the way the Vic centric media and other clubs were playing it.

And no it didn't make your sauces correct. Adelaide got played by some very experienced operators and what appears to be some AFL/VFL "old boys" interference in the process.

I get the feeling that we think everyone that's nice to us is our friend. Listening to Rendell/SOS the other week they were talking about the mega deal the AFL vetoed. Rendell laughed saying how he and Noble, who was wet behind the ears, walked into this big head spinning deal. I'm sure these guys are all civil to each other, even have a beer, but my money is on most of them being intent on winning to the greatest extent possible when it's time to negotiate.

I used to deal poker at the casino in the mid 90s. Almost all regulars and more welcoming and helpful they couldn't be when a non-regular turned up to donate their stake. Wolves, almost all of them. I reckon walking into AFL trade week as a fresh faced negotiator with your Harvard course behind you would be like that.

A bit more about it in today's AFL interview with Gallagher:

"Gallagher said St Kilda would have withdrawn its interest in Brad Crouch had Adelaide matched its bid for the restricted free agent.

"From our perspective, we were really transparent with Brad and his management and Adelaide, and as much as we like Brad and he'll be a really good player for our footy club, the strength of our interest in him was as a free agent.

"We didn't have any intention in trading for him, and that's meant as no disrespect to Brad at all, but we weren't entertaining a trade for him."

Huge story, we need him out if the club and he's hanging around being a bad influence on our guys. Plus he's lazy and does the bare minimum, so would negatively impact the intensity of the session. If Mackay isn't there it'll be a complete waste of time.

But it's not a club organized session.

We can't tell our players who they're allowed to hang out with in their own time.

Really? 95% on here said it was a certainty.

As for sources, yes they don’t exist in the world. I just got lucky.

Yeah I call bullshit on that
