OMG....he's only got 12 more rounds to make it back into the side before finals.....he's running out of time;)
He's taken 9 rounds to get into the magoos, he needs to get a wriggle on.

Seems was an ok VFL game and got better as the game wore on.

Was his ball use good?
Did he start to get amongst it?
Was he strong at the ball?

If so, then it’s simple, does he hence offer more than any current senior player(s)?

If the answer is yes, select him.
If not, or there are better options, then not.

Personally I think Wills is very vulnerable. If Adams is an option or De Goey, you’d think Sier has to look for someone else to replace. Wells seems all but certain to be injured so that’s another spot available. But both De Goey and Adams again means Sier misses potentially.

Be a very interesting Thursday night.

I’m not a hater and I have loved what he brought last year but surely there is something wrong this season.

It’s almost half way through the season and I don’t think he has even been emergency yet. Far out. Pretty disappointing.

Actually he was an emergency this week.
And was an emergency previously this season.

Did have niggles which has hampered him. But he’s working back into it.

I’d suggest at this stage of his career, he hasn’t put in a body of work like say Adams, Beams, Treloar where he’s seen as an automatic selection.

He’s more in the group of having to constantly earn his keep.
If Callum Brown got an injury and it kept him out say 5 weeks, he’s in the same boat, have to re-earn his way back, as he did after he was dropped this season.

Tough to get in, especially in a good side.

He has to go and earn it. I’m confident he will.

Sier not even in the VFL bests, a sure sign the coaches weren't impressed.

Another week in the VFL, 3of Cox De Goey Moore Adams come in for Magden Wills Wells

Not hating on Wills here but can't believe he is being picked ahead of Sier.

Wlls isnt keeping Sier out, he came in because he had the better match fitness and VFL form when called up to cover injured players.

Wills ant up to it though so should go out this week with Adams and DeGoey returning

Only average again yesterday, can't see him playing in the afl team anytime soon
Were you there or are you just looking at his stats? Watchers seemed to think he was being tagged, and while he was quiet in the first half he was great in the second, particularly the last qtr.

That’s my intel.

Coaches look at all sorts of things about who gets in the seniors.

Position, opportunity, opposition, injury etc etc.

Let’s say that at match committee they are thinking about whether Wills stays in or out, and they surmise Sier is better than Wills ....

Be an interesting night in Thursday as a few possible ins and a few outs.

We know Wells is injured; we can assume Madgen and Wills are on thin ice.

Interesting.

I don't think any of us really knows what has been going on with Sier. It struck me watching him over summer, that something wasn't quite right. Had no impact in any match sims I saw. Not that this surprised me; he took a long time to 'gel' and then got promoted after what seemed to me, to be pretty average VFL form. He took his chance and did well in the heavy traffic role. Didn't bother the scoreboard or get out into the open to use the ball though. Always the quick handball out of congestion. I kept waiting for him to run around and get some booming kicks, after all, he has a kick like a mule. I have a theory that footy intelligence could be an issue. During early 2018 he just ran around and got nowhere near the ball; it was like he didn't have clue. If our coaches can't get him on-song then I doubt anybody will. 50/50 as a regular player going forward for mine.

Clearly the bloke has massive issues surrounding a lack of dedication and professionalism. He was almost given the arse at the end of 2017, to his credit he applied himself, like any AFL listed player should and had a cracking 2018 with some great signs of being a mainstay midfielder in a contending team.

For whatever reason he's regressed back to pre 2018 state of mind, he's not being kept out because of injury or team strength, he's being kept out for being a lazy campaigner. I would think if he doesn't doesn't drastically and immediately change his bad habits he'll be let go at the end of the season.

Some people just aren't cut out for it, he has all the physical tools to be a quality AFL player, what a shame to just waste that talent.

And this lazy call is based on?

Just wondering how that call is made?

I’ve watched him at VFL, I’ve never seen laziness. He’s focussed by the looks.

He’s a team mates seem ver embracing of him, it’s bear this, bear that.

Whilst he’s had niggles, he might be one of those players that’s better with better players around him.

He has some gifts as a player but also like many players at the periphery (like Daicos, Wills, Crocker, Broomhead, Brown boys, Goldsack etc) has to keep plugging away to earn his spot and make it permanent.

From reports he’s done extra fitness training. Looks liked in the group.

Sometimes luck deserts you, when Wills came in, he was getting back from injury absence.
This week they may even like to bring ng hm in but with a returning Cox, Moore, De Goey, Adams the “luck” might not be there.

He’ll just have to keep working hard and earn it back.

Just don’t buy laziness at all, though he’s an ultra laid back guy.

You have an unhealthy obsession, SV.

Horses?

Wells?

Sier?

Scharenberg?

Yes, probably.

(I Try to mix them up when I can to keep it all ticking over nicely.)

First time I saw him live and close he stood out
Intraclub 2018

Made others look small
Made great position forward of the ball and wasn't used 4 times

He's a afl player and a good one but in all seriousness he's been superseded by beams Adams and treleor who all can clear at speed
Even Jordan does that

Club loves Callum too and murph

It's well known the dogs love him and the dons
Be great In Sydney IMO

Really like all I want him to stay and succeed but
I think he's gotta go as opportunities are limited , surprised if he stays

Dogs I'd swap for richards

Him and a pick for a better pick

Big off season

Were in a strong position

Exactly. He had 18 possessions a few mins into the second half, he’s getting plenty of it.

How do people think Swanny would have gone playing in the VFL on the way back from injury? I think he’d have been busy talking to people on the boundary and eating pies.
Having his Tatts worked on during the half

I'm not so sure about Ed Richards now. He hasn't been setting the world on fire this year.

Sorry, but the bear stays for mine. The upside is enormous. What do you get for a pick...a lucky dip, that's what.
