First he runs from the cops to avoid a drug test.

Now he refuses a blood test.

When he ran from the cops, someone that worked at the reception said he watched Cousins like a hawk and that there was no way he would have been drunk. He wasn't worried about his blood-alcohol level.

His career is over. It will now be a fight for him to not follow in Mainy's footsteps.

3AW have just said that Cousins was charged with possession of a proscribed drug - being Viagra as well as refusing a blood test.

If that is true, Cousins should be immediately de-registered. Any AFL player needing viagra is clearly brining the game into disrepute.

Thanks for getting us upto date with the hard facts. Cousins would consider himself a little stiff though, he's been shafted.

*In walks Julian Morrow from The Chaser*

"Thats a 100 dollar fine for driving without a shirt on and looking like a pratt"

"And another 100 dollars for pouncy tattoo on stomach"

"And another 100 dollars for having that knobhead Daniel Chick in the car"

Has viagra as the drug been confirmed?

So why would a young, virile man like Cousins need Viagra?

Struggling to think of a faster thread. When Sirengate happened that thread went off tap! But I don't think the main thread even ended up reaching 1000 posts.

lol yeah..but that was just one of those memorable moments in footy...so many possibilities to discuss and some great comedy with Connolly on the field being given his marching orders by Hayes.

This one is just sad for footy.

LOL...but I really dont feel like laughing.

We are wittnessing a bloke, who happens to be a champion footballer, literally comming apart at the seams.

As much as this is facinating in a macarbe way, it is really extrordinarally sad.

I feel for his family :(

If he refused a blood test then it looks like it's all over as far as footy is concerned

However if the cops couldn't force him to take a drug test then you'd suspect there can't be too much evidence against him as far as criminal procedings go.

If someone refuses a breath test, it's as if they tested positive anyway. Thus, you're likely to lose your license just the same.

I'd say it's better to not refuse a breath/blood test, no matter the outcome.

Surely they don't need a meeting? I would have thought if there is any charge that he is gone no question.

There still has to be due process.
They could suspend him awaiting the outcome of the court case, but I doubt, even under the most stringent contract, that he could be sacked until he is found guilty of an offence.

This may not be the last charge. Its possible they have charged him with this just to keep in close check and not allow him to leave the country i.e. go to America and possibly on from there.

If it was part of a sting, I'm sure there is more to come. Its possible they do this intially and throw a few more charges on him at a later date.

I wouldn't be jumping to conclusions yet especially considering the level of the arrest.
