No, quick fix.

We need crumbers, we have the talls developing.
Getting fev doesnt stop us getting crumbers, in fact having him would make the life a crumber far more easy, Watts still doesnt attack packs, he Jumps over and around them, and Cook wont be physically ready for another 3 years, Fitzpatrick has hardly strung together more than a few games for Caseys seniors... Get Fevalenko and teach these blokes how to be a FF at AFL Level

I disagree actually, Watts has started hitting packs hard.

Fev was not a great pack mark, he is a lead up FF.

To be perfectly honest I think that Fev is almost obsolete in the current tactical climate, pressing and zoning, forward pressure and contested marking.

Watts is IN packs, but he is not hitting them hard... yet
Fev was a brilliant 1 on 1 player though, and i cant see the harm in giving him 1 year to start with, with the option of another if he does his job, i know people are gonna continue to look at Fev the Alcoholic/loud mouth idiot But they should be looking at Fev the 30 yr old KPF 2 time coleman medallist who is available for nothing

30 years old, having had a year off, means he could even get another 4 years out of himself, im still of the opinion that he would make everyone in our forward line better players just for learning his leading patterns etc and he would give us a focal point, something which we are severly lacking atm

The guy is a cancer, think long and hard before you put your culture at risk.

Our culture is pretty piss poor at the moment, i dont think it would be a huge risk anyway, he has been good this year with his off field stuff, and get the feeling he wants to be remembered for more than just being a drunked idiot, ala barry hall at the bulldogs

I understand where you're coming from, believe me.

But I think Watts will be that focal point next year. Fev was a great player, I'm not convinced he will be on return.

Look and i also understand the argument from your side, developing Watts forward as the Key target is more important than having Fev getting in his way

But from my point of view, you have to consider that if Fevalenko is in the team, either the best FB will go to Fev and Watts can wreak havoc just in front of him, or the best FB goes to Watts, and Fev kicks a shit load every week and we win more games

Look the club will make the best decision (hopefully) for the clubs future, but i just hope they look at it from the point of view of a VERY capable full forward who could have another cpl of years in him, and not the bloke who left in shame from 2 clubs

And if we get him on a rookie deal and hes not up to it, buy him a dingy, put 2 slabs on it and push him out to sea

You guys are saying that your culture is rubbish, disagree, while it may not be in its greatest state, a new coach will do wonders and refresh the club from the CEO to the cleaner. It's not like your list is full of 30+ year olds on their last legs...its full of budding talent I wouldn't want Fev any where near these boys. Understand he's around them at Casey but you wouldn't want him on your list iMO.....he's bad news.

Im sick of losing. If Fev helps us to remember how to win then its a good thing.

Plus when blokes like Chappy start (i know Dunn actually started it) shyt Fev is going to be the first bloke in to help his mates.

Hes gone down an helped out the casey boys in a cpl of scraps this year, ran 100 metres to help out Blease one day

^seems to be making friends then by the sounds of it. Not to mention, we got nothing to lose. And to add to that, I don't think we'd have to pay him high end money, Fev wants to play AFL, and if no other team chases him... he won't have much choice but to "take it or leave it" tbh.

Completely agree, Watts likes to roam up the ground a bit like riewoldt or gets move down back and play quarter back role like goddard. Petterd can spend more time in the middle likewise sylvia, Howe and Jurrah can play as 3rd and 4th talls.

We get a new coach particularly if we get Lyon, Clarkson or Malthouse who will be able to shape our culture and get Fev to fall in line.

I've been in the 'selective mature recruit' boat for a couple of years now, so would like the club to look at him as any other. Obviously are a few more boxes to tick with him than most others, but if they feel he is physically and mentally capable of giving us 2 good years of footy then by all means pull the trigger.

Assuming he was dedicated to the task the one concern I would have would be do to with taking the place of a developing FF. By the looks of things Cook seems to be that guy. If they feel he's ready to play regular senior games in 2012 then maybe our focus should be on an experienced mid.

Not concerned about him curbing Watts' development, can't see them moving him away from the mostly high half-forward/back line troubleshooter role in 2012. When Watts goes deeper, I can see him crumbing effectively off Fev (his speed and agility is biggest asset in contests at the moment).

If we take Fev it means Cook can play FF for the Casey seniors while Fevola keeps his spot warm for us.

Everything depends on who we get as coach.

Malthouse, Lyon or Eade could possibly give Fevola a chance.

Not sure if Lyon or Eade would do it. Different circumstances but they both got burnt giving players with dodgy pasts a second shot. The point is still valid though. An experienced coach that's confident of his coaching ability could do it.

Well Rodney eadge got burnt by aker, but got great service out of Barry Hall,

And Lyon got burnt by lovett, however lovett has been cleared of the rape charge... both of them would back themselves in to keep him in line i reckon anyway

People..get serious. It isn't a matter of whether or not Brendan can play good football for us..the simple fact is the club will not take him. Do you honestly think with all the "culture" problems (lets be honest we obviously have some with the inner sanctum- Brad Green, disgruntled players etc) that the recruiting and football department would be stupid enough to recruit Brendan Fevola? One of the most renowned head-cases in the game?..get real.

this *1000

this is not based on ydays 11 goal haul, but it seems a good time to bring it up again, alot of time has passed since we first asked should melb look at him an it was an overwhelming no, now with a controversy free season to date and a good team ethic in the 2's , has your opinion changed at all??

me personally i still think regardless of ydays haul... we should seriously look at him, if you park him down in the goal square not only does he take the best defender, but he will bring the ball down to ground more often than not helping with the press, plus he might even kick 40-60 goals

a full pre season into him and a draft choice in the 5th round, hell what can we lose ? if he goes back to his old ways drop back to casey?

anyway the polls up let us no your thoughts
Got it on pretty good authority that Melbourne are STRONGLY considering asking Fev to do a preseason.

"Got It On Pretty Good Authority"

Yes folks....the annual "GIOPGA" BS is with us early this year.

Fev is washed up. MFC would be the laughing stock if they went for this Dildo wearing, urinating , grog filled , "Big Man At The Casino", foul mouthed, imbecile.

Man how quick we forget that this bloke has serious issues that need serious help.

And some idiots want him around the club where he can influence young blokes with his antics.

Get real guys. WHY WOULD WE???
