Would have been a good call and an inspired one if we had lined one of those two to replace Dimma...

I'm not so sure, part of the revival of colonwood and gws is new voices, would they as head coach revitalise the group?

Gale won’t leave us without setting us up. He can’t stay forever. But we’ve lost a lot of the good people who got this club to where it is. Let’s hope it doesn’t all fall apart

Imho, Benny Gale should have a statue placed up at Punt Road long before any coach or player from this era. He built this club to become one of the powerhouses of the competition. It was he who saw that we would never be able to perform on field without a strong off-field. He saw the inequity around what other clubs were able to give their coaches and players with facilities and support staff, compared to us. He identified the greatest anchor to success was our debt and how we would never see success without becoming a strong, debt-free club first.

When Benny reached out to supporters to raise the money to get rid of our debt, it was his passion and vision that sold the concept. He was a true leader and drove the initiative in his typical measured, charismatic manner. He had supporters from the everyday Jo-Blo to Multi-Millionaires reaching into their pockets....and suddenly the debt was gone.

Suddenly we could afford better facilities. We removed the cricket team and rebuild Punt Road to become the envy of all. The club brought in support staff to work on development, which was always our greatest flaw (how many potential 'stars' did we recruit only to see them stagnant or fall away? Instead we started developing hidden gems). We brought in Welfare and Leadership leaders and support that completely changed our club culture. We attracted quality coaches, not just head coaches but, more importantly, the assistant coaches. We never had this before Benny.

So, when we look back on those three flags and we look to a future with quality facilities, administration and club culture, thank Benny. I hope he can do the same for the Tassy Team.

Agree. Anyone follwing pre 2010 benny was the architect with the vision and plan.

He was more important than dimma. He recruited him and set him up to succeed.

We cant get stuck in the past. Successful businesses are always changing CEO's to keep fresh.
Benny has done his job. Best of luck to him.

We definitely need to freshen up - no doubt we were living in the past for 2022/2023 and not evolving enough.
All of these changes and departures over the past 12 months will hurt but regeneration is overdue.
