It’s working spendidly right now.....

....and that's the problem. Only look at the different reactions on here each week. Last week all was going well. This week it's a disaster. After Bulldogs games all was great. Even after Hawks game when we played some of our best football.

Look at the big picture, what we are trying to achieve and where we have come from in the past 3 years. It's an incredible transformation. Amazing really considering what we started with.

Now it's the hard yards and we won't have a clear indication for at least 12 months. Also, not every step will be perfect. It's the big picture that counts

Not my info, but interesting to see if there is any truth, hopefully we are not resorting to Old knee-jerky Carlton.

How many years does that page have to exist without getting anything right, before people realize it isn't worth listening to?

In 12 months, you will say the same thing, we are 12 months away, I am pretty sure you said the same thing 12 months back.

We are getting slaughtered. I witnessed live homicide last night.

You can't keep singing from this same song book.

With the list we have now we should not be this bad. If that means getting some of the kids out of the middle so be it, stick some of the kids on the wing. Bolton is hurting, not helping some of them.

I have never posted in such a manner this year.

We’re practically in the same position as last year with a few more kids. 1-8. That’s a disastrous start to the season no matter how much you try and sugarcoat it. 1-8 with what looks like a tough run home and injuries exposing abysmal depth again.

Judd agrees with me. If you listen to Bolton he isn’t happy with what’s been happening either.

If I could be bothered I’d dig up posts from you and others at a similar stage last year talking about how we’ve come a long way and things will get better to finish the season and next season.

While all the above is true we have seen great things but in the final minutes of all but 1 game we have seen the exact opposite as well.

These players to ME just don't have the intangible that separates them, from others of their draft years maybe that will change IF and when we get experienced mid agers around them. As so often is said in these kinds of threads.

That is another damn If we cannot control that, we need to entice players to choose us. I see all these gifted players and as a sportsperson I really wonder if they are as committed as their rhetoric I don't see it in their actions. So why would said player(s) choose us?

I hope Lloyd is in the meeting; he is the head of Football.

But yes, I like that it is not business as usual. That result warrants a crisis meeting, especially so soon after the North shocker.

Depends upon criteria and discussion.

My belief with the rebuild is that 2018-19 was development. 2020 will see genuine improvement and 2021 finals and that’s if all goes well. Could be a bit longer

This years trade/draft period will have a big say in it.

If we can get our young group for and another pre season along with some quality mature additions I can see real improvement in 2020.

Lots of variables but overall we are on the right track IMO

It just takes time and people are impatient

What you going to say if they replace the coach and we get three 100 point beltings in a row?....Its ok to have passion and an opinion but you are taking it to ridiculous extremes that are based on emotion rather than knowledge.

I never said it was you?

No ones happy with loses. Don’t confuse reasoning and understanding with being happy with results

Coniglio would be mad to come here, absolutely barking mad.
No smart FA should choose us. Not on what we dished up all of 2018 and have now dished up again against North and GWS.

This is a crisis, and I believe the coach and coaching staff are responsible. If Neil Craig was still here we would not be serving up the rubbish witnessed last night.

It isn't about taking him out of there completely or challenging him - it is about having a bit more size and experience around him (and others) to support the midfield.

You talk about size and experience in the middle, yet a 175cm fisher has attended 6.8X the number of centre bounces as Marc Murphy, 14.6X than that of Ed Curnow. Dow has attended 6.3X and 13.6X more centre bounces than Murphy and Curnow respectively.

Thomas, who is more than capable of playing midfielder hasn't been sighted in the centre square.

Again, it isn't about not developing or challenging players - but in the context of lacking size and experience, is this really the right balance for our midfield? Why do we insist on excluding 3 mature players from centre clearances?
The days of Marc Murphy playing physical and sharing the load finished years ago, his shoulders don’t allow him to tackle and he becomes a liability in the centre square.

End of 2020 is a long time away.

Judgement for Bolton will come by the end of this season. It must.

The absolute thrashings are vicious, and some of ours in the past year have been incredible:

- Round 4 - 2018 North, 86 points
- Round 7 - 2018, Adelaide, 55 points
- Round 8 - 2018, Melbourne, 109 points
- Round 13 - 2018, Fremantle, 57 points
- Round 16 - 2018, Brisbane, 65 points
- Round 17 - 2018, St Kilda, 64 points
- Round 18 - 2018, Hawthorn, 72 points
- Round 20 - 2018, GWS, 105 points
- Round 23 - 2018, Adelaide, 104 points

- Round 7 - 2019, North, 58 points
- Round 9 - 2019, GWS, 93 points

There is NO EXCUSE for those results.
Appalling, absolutely appalling.

The evidence is clear, Brendon Bolton simply is not a good coach.

Nope.

You think Collingwood and Richmond supporters would be accepting their progress had it mirrored ours? Didn't realise they were such tolerant and understanding groups.
Well they obviously tolerated mediocrity for a number of years under their respective coaches. Buckley took over a list which was a contender (pies premiership team of 2010 was the youngest of all time from memory) and then they slid year after year with a decent list. But they kept him and were patient.
Hardwick took over a lowly team and they moved up the ladder a bit, played some finals and dropped right off and they were patient and kept him.
Go back to Geelong under Thompson - he was nearly sacked in 2007 in his 7th season. He took over a young list but had way more senior experience than Bolton did. He went on to win the flag that year.
The difference between all of these coaches is they all had a core of quality senior players when the coach took over. Bolton had about 5 players worth keeping and he has had to do a complete rebuild.
We at least need to give him until end of 2020.

We are headed for 100 point beltings under Bolts.

Note, I tend not to favour sacking Bolton today.
I strongly advocate he be released at the end of the year.
If he chooses to leave early so be it.
If the results turn very bad and he get sacked, so be it.

We can't keep our heads in the sand, something is broken, really really broken. 2018 results and 2 of the last 3 results indicate that. If it as simple as midfield youth, then don't select so much youth in the middle. Seriously!!!

What meeting.

You are going off a Facebook Fan Page that has ZERO credibility.
