I have been doing the brownlow to thus far, and after today's games, he is on 11 votes in second trailing Watson on 14

19 clearances, 10 from the centre. I'd like to see the record books because that will be up there, at least for this season.

That one play on the wing where Adelaide just couldn't tackle him, and then he spots a Melbourne player in the middle...sublime.

I have him on 12 votes from 4 best on grounds. Sure, they were against Brisbane, GC, Sydney and Adelaide so not the strongest set of teams but he's far from a flat track bully. 38 touches against Collingwood last year (but no Brownlow votes, which makes me worry about this year) and several other fine performances against top teams. Even this year he was far from our worst against Hawthorn and West Coast.

i believe it's the 2nd most recorded in a game since 1998

Thanks very much for that mate. I didn't think it'd be THAT good. The Jamar/Moloney combination is almost telepathic at times.

Was bog today but can almost guarentee he wont get 3 votes, umps will give it to sylvia as he kicked a few goals aswell. and I bet he wont get maximum votes from all 3 of his other dominate performances this year.

As someone said earlier, absolutely dominated against collingwood on queens bday last year in one of the best individual efforts I have seen for melbourne in years and couldnt even scrape in for a single vote, so he doesnt seem to be an umpire's favourite.

Dont really care though, as long as he keeps this form up, he will be appreciated at the club, and most likely win the bluey.

Just bet on him to win Melbourne's votes. Doubt he will win the brownlow, may finish top 5.

I see he is now 4th favourite for the medal at TAB Sportsbet, paying $13. So the punters don't see him as a smokey, they see him as a deadset contender!

Doubt he will go on to win it, but the muppets on this thread who rubbished the claims clearly have N.F.I.

Will be a good bet to be leading after Rd 11.

Put $1000 to lead Melbourne's vote count at the start of the year. Don't think he'll win the brownlow though

Melbourne won't win enough games for him to get close.
Well Carlton did last year for C.Judd so theres hope for every side, including the Dees. You never no Moloney might get 3 brownlow votes for 15 possessions...ala C.Judd.
Anything can happen

If he was out there shaking hands and tossing the coin with the umps at the start of every game like he should be, he'd be in with a chance.

Instead he spends all day long giving it to the umps as well...

They're very sensitive those men in yellow or green or whatever other colours they wear. We all remember Hird not polling despite single-handedly defeating West Coast a couple of years ago; there was another case back in 1993, when Wanganeen won it from Greg Williams and Garry Hocking by a vote, where Diesel was completely overlooked in a game where he had something like 42 touches but was in the umps' ear all day long.

Anyways, Moloney. Cracking player, should probably have three or four BOGs already, but I don't think he's going to poll as well as he should.

Maloney is flying and is a definitely a smokey. Not many players taking votes away. Similar to Mitchel, who doesnt have much competition from his team mates atm (bar buddy, gibbo and maybe Sewell)
