Another player from the 2005-6 Swans/Eagles era departs
All the best in your retirement Brent:)

This is really not necessary in every retirement thread. Disrespectful.

Everyone farming for likes does the same line early in retirement threads. Its pretty sad and disrespectful, regardless of the player. At the end of the day the guy retiring has played at least one more game of AFL than the person farming.

Another premiership player from the 2005-6 Swans/Eagles era departs

Staker isn't a premiership player.

All the best to him though. Actually played some excellent footy for us but the injury gods were repeatedly unkind.

Never played in a flag unfortunately
Yep , he played in the wrong grand final
Sorry my post should have had a /
Edited for accuracy

Done well to have the career he's had given the lack of luck he's had with injuries, especially in his stint at the Lions. Unlucky not to play in a premiership as well. It's very unfortunate that he will probably be remembered by most for the Barry Hall incident.

7 years at West Coast for 110 games.

6 years at Brisbane for 50.

Says it all really. Was pretty good with injuries with us then missed two entire seasons (plus part seasons) with long term injuries at the Lions. A few people scoffed when the Lions picked him up in the Crazy Vossy era but he was really good in his first and second year until he got injured.

160 games is more than most draftees get to play. And he got a piece of Candice Falzon without marrying her too.

Do we really need a thread for every retired player? What about every delisted player? Every player who gets drafted?

Difference between a player whos played 150+ games and a player delisted after a dozen or so is pretty significant...

Every retirement thread? I've never posted this before? Genuinely forgot Staker was still on a list.

Sorry to Brent and Lions fans if they are offended.

Not by you, no, just seems the first page of every retirement thread at this time of year has a couple of these on it.

We all know Staker was no superstar, but he's had a better than average career, and not everyone can go out lifting a cup.
