Traded Brodie Grundy [traded to Sydney for #46 and F2]

Hahahahahaha

The outrage is excellent. They paid 27, what do they expect for him?

That article says Sydney's opening gambit was pick 46, so it's probably fair enough no?

That's just wasting everyones time, especially because we all know Grundy will end up going for a pick around 25-30, of which Sydney currently have two. Why even bother offering 46, might as well offer them a turd sandwhich...

For the record, I don't rate Grundy. He's slow, can't jump, can't play forward, and makes terrible decisions. Especially by hand. He got towelled up by the bombers this year when he was solo ruck and I never forgave him for that. Also shushing the Port Adelaide crowd when he kicked a rare goal, only to spark the opposition and get steamrolled was just Jake Lever-esque stupidity.

The dees will want him off the books, everyone knows that. But the offer from Sydney is well beyond reality. Everyone knows that. Sydney should just offer pick 33 (or whatever it is) and a F3.

When you realise that is was SAM McCLURE who said the words... well... no one takes him seriously

Yes he is worse than Kane.

Although im surprised with the lack of value shown in Grundy by Sydney as a low offer sends the wrong message to the market.

The Dees generally try to help players out (see JJ and Harmes) and on face value Brody seems a great fit for the Swans.

You beat us on King's Birthday with his terrible decision making. He's a brilliant ball handler, faster than most rucks and huge tank. You're right he can't jump and isn't the best tap ruck, and failed to gel with your captain as a player. Melbourne were loyal to Gawn, and thats good for your club, but no need to run down his equal.

Great fit for Sydney.

So you dont rate Grundy for all those reasons.. yet you think the dees should get more than what they paid??
p33 + future 3rd is WAY overs and more than what you paid.
Hilarious!

P33 is a pretty shit pick for a player you are courting heavily and will pay 650k a year for.

Is Sydney serious or not is the question here

Why would Pies n Dees fight it out? Sydney have the onus to get the deals done if they want the players.

If they don’t then players just stay at receptive clubs and Sydney end up with egg on face.

I reckon that the dees want brody gone more than the swans want him.

It's a reasonable pick for a player that Melbourne are desperate to get off their books......

Think you missed the part where we openly said we are happy to keep him.

What if Gawn pings his hammy round 1 next year and we offloaded Grundy for 33.

We have no cap pressure or targets to spend the cash on either.

Doesn’t really scream “desperate” to me other than bigfooty media and Cornes. This is just spin and a risky game to play when Syd have **** all for a ruck department.

Sydney came for Grundy, so onus is on them to get the deal done. Dees got other deals to prioritise.

Think Grundy is happy with this??

Zero chance this happens, players have all the power. Contracts mean nothing.

You'd literally say the same thing whoever wrote the article. Just change the reporters name.

It’s a fair statement. As evident by the trade not going through.

You will be disappointed if you think 46 gets this done.

Is it a general Melbourne supporter thing to not know the art of negotiation?

P33 and a P3 is actually pretty much bang on from a Grundy point of view.

you paid pick 27, and he isn't getting any younger and BOTH player and club want him out.
P33 is probably about right.

His equal? You're comparing Grundy to Gawn? That's embarrassing.
