Injury Brown -- Now say 4-5 weeks out (BS loading not included)

When Brown was walking along the boundary line after just coming up the race he was having a laugh with the doctor, so I immediately thought the injury wasn't too bad.

Bucks said after the match that they would figure out the severity of it tomorrow but the concern right now is pretty serious.*

*something like that

This is the only thing I can find that has come from the club.

Brown, who missed the entire 2011 season because of a knee reconstruction, will learn his fate when he has scans today. The defender’s shoulder popped out while trying to spoil Lance Franklin in a marking contest in the third quarter.

“Once we got him back in the rooms it popped back in straight away, but we won’t know the extent of it until we get scans,” Eade said.

“As we know with some players, they don’t get the operation and they wait until seasons end and there’s not too much damage. The worst case scenario is obviously a reconstruction and the best case is it could be four or five weeks.

“If there’s no bone or ligament damage he might be OK.”

It would seem the 16 weeks comes from the assumption he will require an immediate reconstruction, unless scans have been carried out today and they somehow leaked to Ralph.

Well 16 weeks sounds a bit much- and really bad luck to Nate if that's the outcome.
I would hope it is just a simple dislocation, in which case he should be back pretty soon- but obviously it is complicated by his previous reco, so it woud suck if he needs another on of those.
Let's just wait to see the outcome.

If he is out, I dont think we have another option but to put Reid back in defence full time. Our backline is already very young, but if we were to rely on Frost and Keefe as our 2 KPD's - then we will not have the consistency to even battle for top 8.

Book him in for surgery and get it done then.

Round 14 return there's still plenty of footy to be played plus finals if we get there.

The whips will start to be cracking by then and we will need Browny. Don't waste any time piss farting around and "wait and see" only to book him in for surgery a month down the track.
Round 14? Wouldn't even start running by then, a shoulder injury with surgery is effectively the season over. It would be 4 months on the side lines, then resume through the reserves if he's lucky.

****! Time for Keeffe and Frost to shine and for Maxwell to play that loose man role like his career depends on it!

What's with people's obsession about Swans weight his always been bigger than others if he was overweight I highly doubt he'd be playing.

It's an annual tradition, happens this time every year. In the next few weeks he'll start ripping it up and everyone will forget, until next year.

Oxley was down to miss 6 weeks. It's now been 11. Where is he?
Dude if you're going to be so relentlessly negative at least get it right. The intraclub game was just over 7 weeks ago

He cops a bit from his own but he is a good FB and our only strong key defensive option. We will miss him as the season wears on if he does miss a long stretch. Just going by the difficulty of getting the shoulder back into place it doesn't look positive.

Pardon? He'll be able to run in 10 weeks.

He'll require surgery. He's had reconstructive surgery on one of his shoulders previously and anyone saying oh yeah 1-2 weeks and he'll be right, mustn't have seen the circumstances.

There will be significant trauma to the capsule due to the length of time the dislocation lasted. With a subluxation he might have avoided surgery, but that was definitely not a subluxation.

If anyone thinks he'll be back within the expected time frame they've got rocks in their head if he does go in for surgery.

He won't be back in the senior line up until round 20 at the earliest. Round 14 (as stated by Ralphy) is only 3 months away the recovery period is 4. With that being said though he will be running by round 14 I assure you!

Of the major contenders, none have two genuine, experienced key forwards.

Freo - Pavlich, Mayne (not really KP size)
Hawthorn - Roughead, Hale (pinch hitter)
Geelong - Hawkins, Brown (no more experienced than Frost)

Sydney actually appear to have the best ability to stretch us at full strength, with Tippett, Franklin and Reid, and we won't be seeing them for a while now. Keeffe would be a decent match for Hale when we play the Hawks. As long as Reid gets back, he and Frost should be serviceable most weeks.
