Re: Brownlow Medal 2011 (Part 1)

Interesting round of football

round 18

north vs. brisbane
3- bastinac
2-black
1-petrie

geelong vs. richmond
3- christensen
2-kelly
1-corey

leaderboard

22- pendlebury, judd
20-murphy, mitchell
16- moloney, priddis
14- thomas, dal santo, o'keefe
13- cox, selwood, swan, goodes
12- franklin, watson, fyfe
11- martin, ablett, thompson (crows), griffen, embley

Would be interested to get some more thoughts on the north vs. brisbane and geelong vs. richmond matches. Also who people deserved the 2 and 1 votes in the Sydney match (we know goodes will get 3 here).

I've got the same Nth vs Bris votes. Black may get the 3 but better to underpoll for teamvotes.
2.50 (3) - R.Bastinac
2.50 (2) - S.Black
1.00 (1) - D.Petrie

Didnt watch Gee vs Rich.
2.25 (3) - A.Christensen
2.00 (2) - J.Kelly
1.00 (1) - T.Cotchin
0.75 (0) - J.Corey

That is a very good leaderboard :thumbsu:

*EDIT* Interesting that you have Boyd on 10?

Re: Brownlow Medal 2011 (Part 1)

Could only bear the first half of Geel v Rich. Based on the first half and some research I think its:

Christensen 2.5 (3)
Kelly 1.25 (2)
Bartel 0.75 (1)
Corey 0.75
Selwood 0.5
Cotchin 0.25 - 38 touches but would be surprised if he polled, team got smashed so horrifically.

Re: Brownlow Medal 2011 (Part 1)

im thinking about unloading on pendles at $9 now, what are people's thoughts, is he likely to come in or drift out in betting before seasons end??

Too many variables to know for sure. He could belt someone this week and your dough is done . He is certainly up there and right now out of him, Judd & Murphy I think Pendles is still the value. I can't see him getting out much more than $10 because he's just so consistent and always seems to be around the votes.

Re: Brownlow Medal 2011 (Part 1)

if things continue the way they are going, i would expect him to drift slightly come brownlow night. last season swan was a big favourite and all the money from the mug punters comes in for the favs in the week leading up to the night, as i would expect this season with judd. for the last 6-7 rounds of last season judd was around the 16-22 mark, by brownlow day he was 30's and high 30's on b/f by the start of the night. all the other potential winners last season hayes, p-bury, selwood all drifted as the money came in for swan.

using pendles now in some multi's with coleman/premiership/to make grand final would be the best option imo if your pretty confident.

votes for nm/bl:

bastinac 2.4
black 2
petrie 1.2
ziebell .2
swallow .2

With a handful of rounds left, and assuming there are no drastic changes I'm looking to use the above bolded as my main anchors with various combinations, mixing etc. Whats everyone's thoughts?

I have Priddis 4 ahead of Cox and I just can't see Cox getting near him. What have others got?

I also can't see Goddard winning St. Kilda. I've been generous to him and I've got him a few behind Dal Santo.

So does anyone think its a little to risky in any parts?

Thompon, Black, Mitchell and Moloney definitely. It would be good if Watson comes back this week and gets another 6-9 votes before the end of the season to seal him winning for Essendon. Ablett is also a guarantee for GC. Carlton, Collingwood, Fremantle, Geelong, North, Richmond, Port, St Kilda, Sydney WC and Bulldogs are up for grabs still. Hopefully Wells, Fyfe, O'Keefe, Bartel and Martin dominate for the rest of the season lol.

yeah i thik those are the right locks at this stage and prob watson. i am hoping more for watson to not show his face so his value goes up and the dons only win one more game. i think priddis and fyfe at this stage will be in alot of mine and prob dal santo. i am worried about griffin polling alot of three vote games but boyd should have it

Re: Brownlow Medal 2011 (Part 1)

^ i think Griffen isnt that far behind from Boyd. Much better in their wins and most of Boyds votes will come early in the season (coming from losses) which is abit iffy for mine.

Priddis isnt a lock now but should be by Round 24.

I dont think Itll help our cause if Watson belts out another 2-3bogs as he is already very short - although i cant see him doing much coming back from two hammies.

That is what we all want (in particular martin)

This is for 2010:

http://stats.rleague.com/afl/brownlow/brownlow2010rbr.html

To get there you need to go to home page, then Brownlow Medal, then click the year you want and then click round by round to get the page above.

Hope that helps.

Re: Brownlow Medal 2011 (Part 1)

Does anyone recall how far ahead of the browlow they opened the team leaders last year at Tab?
