Clarry polled 1 vote across these five wins:

R4 v Geelong: 34 disposals, 14 CPs, 10 SIs, 0 votes

R6 v Richmond: 36 disposals, 17 CPs, 11 SIs, 0 votes

R12 v Brisbane: 25 disposals, 13 CPs, 11 SIs, 0 votes (clear BOG in this one)

R20 v GC: 35 disposals, 19 CPs, 9 SIs, 1 vote

R21 v WCE: 28 disposals, 21 CPs, 1 goal, 3 SIs, 0 votes

Truly absurd count.
He needs to learn to spread from the contest more if he wants more votes. Too much collect and handball

First non midfield player home Max Gawn 16 votes.

You do know who does the voting?

Ollie will be an umpires pet next year, but this is his year to shine

It's a bullshit award voted by blokes who weren't good enough to play the game at the highest level.

AFLPA MVP more meaningful.

You don't have to had played at the elite level to recognise a good footballer. Umpires are elite in their own segment and are closely involed at the elite level of the game. Closer to the game than us on the couch or in the stands.

Happy for Ollie. Been upset for years that we took Toumpas over him in the draft.

Shame Bont couldn't get a share of it. Just expected him to win one of these for about as long as he's been playing.
Yes I reckon that would be one regret Todd Viney would have, from memory he was head of recruiting at the time and because Ollie was best mates with his son Jack he didn’t take him when he clearly should have.
