Infuriatingly difficult to support week to week but sublime to watch when on. We didn't make it any easier for him. Will still be carrying a weight of expectation he could do without.

Thanks for the service to CFC Bryce. You have been class all the way.

Had a hard time at CFC through your career through one of the worst periods in our history.

Hope you can seal your career with a premiership.

We will miss you heaps in 2018.

Glad to see the vast majority of posters are wishing Bryce well.

Yeah, he had some flaws. But almost every single player does.

IMHO you can be upset he's gone. You can talk about loyalty (both ways). You can critique the deal if you want. You can criticise bits of his career etc.

But blatantly hanging shit on Bryce doesn't reflect poorly on him, it reflects poorly on the poster....

This is too much for me.

I trundled off to Princes Park in 2006 to watch a young kid play for SA in the u18 Championships. I was very happy with what I saw and ecstatic when we got our man in the Draft that year.

The kid was treated like a man when he first played and given roles to fast track his development. Run with roles with Adam Goodes, sweeping roles in the back half, it was team first stuff. He didn’t get the accolades of the #7 pick who had the benefit of elite teammates but I was always happy with the choice we made.

The maturity kicked in and another Bryce appeared. On ball and snagging a few goals. It was 2011 and I was bullish about the future. However Ratts saw the versatility and wouldn’t commit to a full time on baller and we suffered as a result.

It took an outsider to do the obvious in 2014 and he took off. It was a pleasure watching him that year and the
B & F was thoroughly deserved. The game against Geelong sticks in my mind. The team let him down that day.

2017 was really an extra year and, given the preamble, Bryce displayed class and led from the front. The Suns game was a standout but the personal highlight was the goal against Collingwood when he bounced off the defender and calmly slotted the goal.

It’s horrible to think of a stalwart for the Carlton Footy Club not finishing his career wrapped in navy blue. This shouldn’t have happened.

Wildly inconsistent player, a real pain in the arse actually, but when he was at his best he was a game-changer. Though you have to give him some leeway considering the teammates he's had around him for the bulk of his career. Will be interested to see how he does in a new environment. Thanx Brycelet.

Don't have anything to add other than my own acknowledgment that you will be missed Gibbs. Tough to throw a decade of time, emotions and hope behind someone and not feel somewhat flat that it ends without success. Who knows, maybe we may see you in five years for one last premiership tilt.

Very sad to see Gibbs go. He’s been a stalwart servant for the past 11 years and now, through the trade, enabled the club to take another significant step towards premiership redemption.

I doff my cap to you Sir and wish your family the best of fortunes.

Now that the dust has settled.

I have been critical many times of Gibbs, during his career. The debacle of last year's trade period and clearly still harbouring strong thoughts of leaving this trade period, haven't eased my frustrations

Although, I must commend him for the way he has conducted himself, this year on and off the field. Shows real character, to come out and perform the way he did, true sign of class. Wish him all the best, with the rest of his career
