Went back to my local footy club after the game today. Had to explain 100 times the only way he’s not on list next year is if we delist him. “So we don’t have to draft him?”
Nothing in the match highlights, but 5aa special comments man Orazio Fantasia (lol) gave Brynn the mark of the day award "for his speccy" - hopefully some vision of it will appear sometime.

Yep give him a 12 month contract and it means we have 4 rucks in 2023, Lycett, Hayes, Teakle and Dante, provided we dont try and trade out Sammy and Parker can go and recruit 5 sexy flakey flankers.

Didn’t seem out of place.
Ruck work was raw and needs some time but got to the right areas, kept competing, contributed, clearly athletic.
It really struck me how much we need an athletic big man in ruck. Lycett really seems done. Sammy is really going to have to work in this regard.
The injury made all the worse as we seemed to really find a way to have all the big guys in the team.

Definitely has some spunk and attitude about him. Time will tell whether he has the talent to match. Certainly did enough to suggest he gets a contract for next year.
Isn't there a rule that if you draft from interstate in the midseason draft you have to give them 18 months?
I read a bit of the early match day thread and couldnt believe how much he was panned by some of the posters here! I thought I must be watching a different match and player! He looked raw, but that was to be expected from a debutante, and all the more so considering he had trained for 5 minutes with the squad. But he just kept competing hard, and before long was matching it with Pistol Pete. He was 10x more athletic than Hayes, whom I love by the way, and was able to follow the action from one part of the ground to the other with ease, competing, marking, linking. along with numerous 1%'ers.
I loved what i saw, and was just devo when he got injured. Was looking forward to seeing how he finished the game, and would have loved to see him get the 'Gator shower.'

I'm middle row, third from the left in the Play-Hayes-Now-Farken-Funk-Squad, but was really enjoying his game before he hurt himself yesterday. Think he'll make a very handy 2nd ruck/forward in the future, and has cult hero status pending
IMO, Has better attributes then Hayes. More athletic, more mobile, more aggressive, can take a pack mark. Hope Hayes makes it, but Teakle at 22, looks promising.

Injury report: Teakle undergoes shoulder surgery
Young ruckman Brynn Teakle has had surgery to repair a broken collarbone suffered in Round 14 against Sydney.
Man I remember when it happened I thought "jeez that's a bit of an old fashioned ear massage" but didn't even click it was Lil Pisty.
How exciting is he? He's got a fair bit to learn about ruck craft but he's big, physical, and can take a grab. I love him. You know he'll get a game as soon as he's ready as well since Ken seems to actively dislike people who can knock the ball to advantage.

Teakle is a very different style of player to Hayes. He's not a Hayes replacement. What he has done though is make Lycett obsolete. I don't see anything Lycett can do that Teakle can't do just as well.
