His pack marking up forward is a real strength. I think we should develop him as a post-Dixon CHF who can support Marshall and Georgiades.Big pre-season and Brynn can really push his name forward for selection.
Lots of core work to make sure he can't be easily shifted in ruck contests.
There's a lot to like about his game.
Interesting that when asked about ruckmen, he mentioned Lycett, Hayes & Dante, but not Teakle.
- He's seen as a forward first?
- He's been underwhelming and Josh had nothing nice to say?
- Just an omission, with no deeper meaning?
Those who've attended the open trainings - where has he played and how has he looked?
I like him a lot ... A ral shame he got that injury last year, just as he was starting to really show something.Let's not have another whipping boy before he's had a decent chance. He's done well in the SANFL in a forest of rucks, so yeah, maybe a forward is how they see him, but there's a pretty long queue for that role in the AFL side.
People need to understand that it's not what he said it's what he didn't say.He didn't mention that he doesn't support Putin's war in Ukraine either. Reckon there is something in that.
I didn't see any match sim but physically he just looks like such a great athlete.Interesting that when asked about ruckmen, he mentioned Lycett, Hayes & Dante, but not Teakle.

I really hope he does well.
I would definitely trail him in defense .Any chance of using Teakle as a Key Defender or a Utility?... rather than just a key forward who pinch hits in the ruck? We already have Finlayson and some degree Dixon for that.
We also got Lord (21 yrs, 96kg) who will be our next key forward option.
The forward role is full in my opinion but the tall defender roles need more depth.
Having Teakle play a key defender role that can ruck will give us more flexibility.
Unless Lycett retires this yr I don't see him being played as a forward/ruck that role is full with 3 options (Lycett, Hayes & Visentini - less likely this yr)
Just dont want Teakle to be playing in the magpies for the remainder of his contract and future contract extensions
Mobile rucks aren't easy to come by...

I think it was just an omission. Tess has been used as a forward first then a ruck at the open training. He went OK against Lycett and Hayes (about 45:55 win loss with the taps) and a bit better against Dante (55:45). Around the ground he pants them all. He is a much better kick, handballer, runner and mark than Lycett, Hayes and Dante and also applies more pressure than those three. Finalyson was down on his usual standard and didn't dominate around the ground but that is understandable.Interesting that when asked about ruckmen, he mentioned Lycett, Hayes & Dante, but not Teakle.

Maybe we could pick up a defender in the mid-season draft.Any chance of using Teakle as a Key Defender or a Utility?... rather than just a key forward who pinch hits in the ruck? We already have Finlayson and some degree Dixon for that.
