Buddy says fans should "Get a life".

He's an arrogant jerk...and so are all the hawks supporters that were having orgasms on Fri night whenever he went within 80 metres of the ball.

I don't know what's funnier, the sour grapes or the fact a Western Bulldogs supporter lives in Toorak.

Fair go!

All sports stars are people too and deserve a little time and space.

I'm an acquaintance of Archie Thompson (my wire & his wife were school friends) and whilst at a restaurant maybe 5 or 6 weeks after the World Cup he was getting bugged for autographs and photos whilst trying to use the urinal.

There's a time and place for these things...

Archie doesn't tell people to "get a life" though...

Buddy chooses to act in an arrogant manner when on the field... this is never going to be popular with the players. When in comparison, Gary Jnr is pretty humble and doesn't gloat to the crowd / show regular disrespect to opponents like Franklin does.
I'm sure Franklin isn't a bad bloke off the ground... problem is, he portrays himself a certain way on the field and that's how the public will always see him.

This post title and thread is pure BS!

http://bigpondvideo.com/HawthornTV/76671

At about the six minute mark.

Journo: "What about the rockstar element. We've seen people taking pictures on camera phones and sending it in to the papers and that sort of stuff, how do you feel about that?"

Buddy: (laughing) "Some people might need to get a life I reckon! I don't know mate, that's a hard one too. You can't really do much can you? That's about it"

Chill brother - we all realise that Buddy is being factual and this is a thread from a jealous individual who likes to manipulate the facts.

A bit like Dermie and Jonathon Brown, is there one rule for one and another rule for others?

Can we get a mod to change the title of this thread. Its totaly out of context. Anyone who listened to the interview will know that the statement was not aimed at fans. It was aimed at the star gazers that take photos at well known people and send it to the papers.

If you quote my post it would be nice if you actually read it.

It merely outlined a scenario that I witnessed occur to somebody famous.

Do you always judge based on stereotype?

Gary Jnr.... Did the apple fall far from the tree?

I think you are the one who needs to chill.

Did you actually read the OP or just the title?

If you actually did bother to read the post you will have noted that i was being very positive towards Buddy.

I took the title from SEN because that is the exact wording they gave when they were giving a run down of the interview.

Chill out and read the entire OP instead of just reading the first part. :thumbsu:

I think that was the whole intent of the poster.

The stirrers will think what they want and the normal people will see beyond the thread title. Don't stress about what the trolls think ;)

I read it - it's not fair the treatment Archie received in that case you outlined, but it's different for Buddy. He has to cop everything that comes his way. If he acts the way he does on and off the field, he's got to learn to cop it sweet. He's a jerk, and should be treated accordingly.

How so?

Does he owe you money?

Did he provide you with faulty goods and won't return your call?

There's only 1 jerk I can see and it ain't Buddy.

Also BT asked him about the 'indigenous' thing and you get the impression that while he has a bond with the indigenous guys at hawthorn, he doesnt burn with indigenous issues like your Michael Long etc.

Just a young guy enjoying life

Stereotype? Franklin is very, very arrogant. He has no issue with making that clear. I just made a point that his decision will mean he won't be respected on all levels by his peers.

Gary Jnr.... Did the apple fall far from the tree?

Your asking me? If you've been watching football for the last 2 years you know the answer. Ablett is one of the most centered, professional minds in the game also enjoying similar in his personal life. Try again sport. :D

I agree with you regarding Gary Jnr, but using your logic of stereotypes should we tar all Abletts with the same brush? Alisha Horan.

Bahaha before anyone takes it out of context... He means like repeat harrassers, or people that can obviously see he's doing something and doesn't need to be bothered - ie out to dinner with friends etc.

Someone rang in to SEN after and said how he met Buddy in a supermarket after a game, and mentioned how he was really good to his kid etc.

pretty much what I heard...
