Well mate I hope it's not too similiar to the result...I was there and nearly had a heart attack as the Hawks died in the arse in the second half and was nearly overrun save a couple of late goals. A nice steady 4 quarter effort would be nice!

You know, I just stumbled across the stats and we've beaten Freo at Subi the last two times we've played them there - both early-ish rounds, one in 2009 and one in 2008 (22 points & 15 points respectively). No wonder I was getting myself confused - its happened twice.

They haven't beaten us since Round 7, 2007 and I can't see them starting now!

Well I am hoping that after weeks of resting players and playing ducks and drakes that you may not be able to just 'switch on' as easily as you think. I guess we will find out soon!

Hawk supporters rightly or wrongly get confident around finals time. I mean we do have an imposing record in finals as a club and we have won more premierships than any other club in the modern era.

Until we've spent 50 years or so (will never happen) losing finals and grand finals you will unfortunately see many hawk supporters with a strut come september if we are involved.

The omission of Skipper and franklin was even more important because we had play roughead in the ruck for periods with no one up forward and roughie still kicked 6 that day. Not saying we didn't lose but there was a pretty good reason which had nothing to do with underestimating them
