lol, is that what we've come to? celebrating 19 touches and 0 goal games? Talk about setting the bar low.
Best on? not even in the top 10 on the ground.

Just had a look through the AFL app, he had the most marks of anyone on the ground and 7 score involvements, in a low scoring game, a good game by anyones measure. He's not getting brownlow votes but was our 4th or 5th best.lol, is that what we've come to? celebrating 19 touches and 0 goal games? Talk about setting the bar low.

I reckon Berry and Jackson would get votes before Rayner. It was a good one off game, needs to do this more often. Coming in to tag danster is a bit muchI think he and Berry both walk away with votes tbh
AFL player ratings had Rayner 34th best on the ground. I didn't watch the game, so no position to judge. Some of the things Rayner does, crashing packs without taking possession etc could not be properly recognised by the CD ratings system, but it was Rayner's 4th lowest rated game of 2023. He had just 3 contested possessions and 1 goal assist, and his 7 score involvements must have come mainly from being involved in uncontested chains?
I am a big Rayner fan as people will know, but statistically at least, he has actually been playing better in other matches and in this match looks to have benefitted more from the good work of his team-mates. I would be mildly surprised to see him in the Caches votes. Against that, he has likely done his job according to how the game played out and what was required of him by his team.
The fact he had a poor game CD-wise goes to show how poor that system is. He was fantastic and very impactful. Guaranteed to be in the coaches votes and think he may snag the 1 Brownlow vote. I think Berry and Jackson will snag the others.
Was most of his impact in chains of possession where he was just another link in the chain, or did he do something eye-catching with or without the ball?
Around 4th best for us on fantasy points. Amazing differenceAFL player ratings had Rayner 34th best on the ground. I didn't watch the game, so no position to judge. Even your own fans have said he wasn't best on ground or anywhere near it.Say you didn't watch without saying you didn't watch.

Well I hate Brodie Grundy, so I'd be willing to offload him for just about anyone, including Rayner. Spargo for Rayner I probably would do but I wouldn't be excited about it. I'd put him above Spargo but behind Neal-Bullen. Closer to a Melksham type. But Melksham is much more dangerous around goals, at least this season.Danny boy, would you trade Brodie Grundy for rayner? Or spargo for Rayner?

what do you think Rayner is worth now? An early 2nd? Maybe, a late first in a compromised draft? Give it 1-2 more seasons and it'll be a late 2nd.Essendon threw the kitchen sink at Rayner a couple of years ago. They were under the impression it was pretty close, and they would have paid overs signficantly.
With the fact that Brisbane will have 2 x ashcrofts and Fletcher coming through, as well as others, he will get squeezed out sooner or later.

Question is irrelevant as he is signed long term, doesn't want to go and we don't want to trade him.Wouldnt get a first round pick for him now.
25 to 30 i would imagine.

If Rayner gets a brownlow vote for that game I'll question what planet the umpires were on.
