I LOLed at the cameras. Twas seriously one of the most uninteresting thing in a 150 years of AFL. At the start the ump looked rather uninspired and a touch miffed at having strap on the latest equipment from 1990 onto his person and run for 30 minutes with more than a hint of dismay.

The umps looked like the Predator - I was expecting to see a triangle of laser lights on the football or the player who infringed.

Was a great opportunity to try out something different. It was just one of those things that you don't know if it will or won't work until you do it. It didn't work. Now we (and the tv stations & the AFL) know.

Who are they trying to appeal to by using this type of technology?? Completely uninteresting... the only people who might find it remotely worthwhile are complete spuds who would otherwise have no interest in the game. Is this really the group of people the AFL wants to market the game to, ruining it for everyone else??
