Captain Judd!!

Judd was awesome and may one day get back to some sort of past form, but it does tell everybody at Carlton, all the players that have gone through their dark days, that you are all crap.

Oh well, how many fingers can you cross now hoping Judd gets fit?

PS. Too much of all of this reminds me of the life and times of Kouta. Lets hope for Carlton fans, including my Dad, that it doesn't quite turn out the same.

This one is for trivia buffs. Is Judd the first captain since Carlton was established to not have played a game for Carlton? In the early years was there a guy bought to the club to be a captain coach or something?

Barassi perhaps.

Good luck to Juddy, i actually hope he plays earlier than everyones predicting. Love watching him play just sadly won't be for us this year.

p.s. hope he's injured for rnd 7 :D

Barassi i think is one but i reckon there may be another as well.

Regardless of that, Juddy is pretty clearly the right choice for the job. Supporters of other clubs criticising the decision could only be jealous they don't have the man at their club.

Go Juddy. Go Blues.

Great news now that we know for sure, Stevo would have been just as good to appoint and I am sure he will work with Judd with everything anyway, heres to the Blues moving forward! :thumbsu:

Hi Guys

This seems a surprise to an outsider.

Judd is an absolute champion and leads by example on field.

But what about off field? Shouldnt he take some responsibility for some of the mess that happened at West Coast under his leadership. Things actually seemed to get worse when Cuz lost the gig and Judd took over. The president and CEO are partially responsible. Should the captain absolve himself of responsibility too?

I would question his leadership credentials based on this alone - regardless of the rights or wrongs of his decision to leave a club in strife when he was captain.

Seems like a brave decision by the board to me.
All of a sudden its clear why you chose that username.

Either way, I wouldnt want him captaining my club (not that my club Hawthorn doesnt have a total leadership void as well!).

So you're a Hawthorn supporter, no wonder you feel so strongly about the demise of West Coast!

Your club look as though they may well be on the verge of something on-field while at the same time looking like spiralling into even worse drama off-field. :) (for Parrot)

poor stevens
Maybe.......but maybe if he had worked his but off since being at the club, rather than just in the last 12 months or so it would have been a different story last year, and hence this year.

He has paid the price for being lazy in the off-season for too long. Not good leadership. What he did last summer was admirable, and his form reflected this.......but where had it been up till then?

By all accounts Judd has been a picture of leadership since he arrived and ALL the guys, not just the kids, look up to him........that's a leader if ever I saw one.

TYPING IN CAPS IS REALLY ANNOYING.........IT'S USED TO SHOUT ONLINE.

Try taking the caps off and use them when you want to emphasis your point.
GOT IT!.:D

Probably the right decision in my view. Just a natural inspiration to the rest of the club.

Best of luck Chris, and congratulations on having the honour of captaining Carlton. :thumbsu:

Must say im pretty dissapointed with this decision, a few guys should have been way ahead of him. Judd is a great player, and lead the Eagles to a flag, but I have to agree with supporters comments, it makes a joke out of the CFC to import a Captain who hasnt played a game for us yet.

I feel bad for Stevens in particular, but also Simpson, you guys had my vote:thumbsu:

from what we've read, Judd has changed/lifted the entire team to a new level. i'm not sure that Stevens ever did or could do that.

I think he's a worthy vice captain though.

stevens would have been captain if he had given a stuff since day one. and as for kade one of my favorites but not a good enough footballers to be captain when we finally challenge for the premiership simo wont even be in our top 10
