Not taking it personally, just pointing out one of the reasons some don't particularly like her. People don't generally like those they perceive as being users.

From a PR perspective - if something could link Carey here, the line would be, "I'm not going to fuel rumours", or, "I simply won't respond to false rumours", or, "These rumours involving me have been circulating and I'm sick of them, and I'm not commenting further and appreciate that the media doesn't give them further fuel."

In an instance of out and out denial, in a heavily PR driven environment - I'd tend to believe the denial. Especially in this case where it is so unequivocal, up to and including saying he had never even met the girl.

Irrespective of how people view Carey, to take a stance to support her in this instance is actually a classy thing to do IMO

Lets face it with social media these days it is very easy to start a rumor. Whilst she is a very attractive woman (IMO) her look is not that uncommon so an easy mistaken identity could also explain it. People love to gossip.
