Thanks for that Ford fairlane as a lot of us at Collingwood don't know much about him other than he played at Port Magpies.

To my liking he has certainly fitted in quickly to MM's gameplan and looks very mature for his age. I very much like the look of him and I reckon we will be seeing a lot more of him in the future.

Here Here.
Im already a huge fan of Smokin Lokan.

No worries. Matty was played up forward at Port a fair bit because we've struggled in the key forward post the past couple of years. IIRC he did go down back a bit later in the year ... also due to his set shots which he often gave a mighty hook to the right ... ;)

He also finished in the top 3 for his category in the draft camp in the bench press IIRC ... so he's always been a big strong guy.

I'm suprised that Port Power didn't pick him up or did he just slip through the net.

He was fairly inconsistent at the Port Maggies, played a number of reserves games - being the "tall" forward at 188cm didn't help, especially when his kicking radar went haywire. I was surprised he was drafted based on his form over the last 2 years in the SANFL, although he was invited to the draft camp as a junior. But I can see how he could make a medium sized sweeping defender. Always good to see ex Port Magpies taking their opportunity on the big stage (putting aside AFL allegiances for a moment ;) )

If he plays, expect 40000 Collingwood fans to go hard with the verbal abuse...oh to be a fly on the wall hearing it:D

The thing is, if carey had ended up going to collingwood which was very possible as he had them on his short list , these collingwod fans would like him and would dare anyone to say a bad word against him

We would put up with him. Until he proved himself or otherwise. BTW Carey's short list at the end of the day counted for nothing. It was who wanted him at the advertised price that mattered, and therefore he was never going to Collingwood.

Ummm...noooooo....If he had of ended up at collingwood at a fraction of the price the Crows paid for him (his real worth)...not too many collingwood supporters would be jumping to his defence, expecially as the boy can't even get up enougth steam to play a practice match.

There must be a HUGE stack of silent Crows supporters already regretting trading picks 2 & 18 for Carey...and as the season goes on....I fully expect them not to remain silent. :)

Garbage. The crows fans have come around to having him and I bet collingwood fans would too, so it is pretty stupid for them to boo him because quite alot that boo him would yell abuse at any opposition fan who mocked carey if he was a magpie.
