It’s a pleasant change to be facing trade/draft permutations from a position of strength and with a bright outlook over the coming years. Very, very nice.

Now give me more.
We have traded away some of our future for this position.

Next year will be quiet with not much draft capital.

10, 18 and 30 to the Tigers, which then becomes 10 and 14, for Bolton. Is he really worth two mid first round picks?
Bolton is 100% worth two mid first round picks.

You know the fwd-mid class, speed and spark that we have missed for 10 years? That's Bolton.

Genuine match winner.

Could it be like 12 for 20, 24 and 51?

Considering that late pick is worthless to you guys with all the high picks you are taking anyway.

Edit. It could include Kennedy who you are somewhat interested from reports.
Yup that would be a good outcome for us too, would ensure a tall defender and sml fwd . Our pick 14 for a midfielder, should still be a good option there for us.

I don’t see it that way. We’ve brought forward a pick with a slight additional cost into a stronger draft. Gets us a good prospect (hopefully) into the club a year earlier and allows us to build the next generation now. Then there’s FA and NGAs next year and potential draft capital from next year’s trades or picks brought forward from the year after that. I think it’s a bold strategy.

But what original poster said, it'll be a quiet draft for us in terms of trading as we won't have much. Yes, we've gone bold going all out a year earlier for the future though.

FA, any club can be busy in

Not getting too excited for next year's free agency. We have some massive re-signings that need to take place and precedence over anything else we consider (though at least one is in the bag).

If we can fill a couple of holes with an underrated player (Acres level) that will be a huge win.

Suspect that what will happen is the introduction of extended future pick trading. There's no way we will consider shipping our 2026 picks but I wouldn't be surprised at all if we traded back into the first round of the draft or traded for an experienced player with our 2027 selection.

2025-2027 is our window. Then we'll reassess based on where the likes of Cripps is at. Building the list continuously.
