(To all bombers supporters on this thread) Oh shutup essendon is rubbish all essendon supporters are just jealous because Carlton made the finals and the pathetic bombers didn't boohoo go post somewhere else sooks

School holidays must have started early.

After last nights win by the Saints we have a great chance of making the grandfinal. All we got to do is get past the Swans. because next week we will get the Doggies and we will beat them and the week after we get the Saints. We will beat them and will prolly get Collingwood in the grand final but they will beat us.

Please.
All you airheads from Carlton need to have a proper look at this.
You're unlikely to beat Sydney, and more unlikely to beat what will most probably be the Dogs, who may be down on form but will be more than capable at having your measure.
If you somehow manage to topple those two sides, you face a fit, firing and hungry Saints outfit who will make a mess of you on the big stage.
Sure, you beat them in the H&A season, but finals are a different ball game, as shown last night.
Stop dreaming, you're miles from success.

Opposition supporters saying
"LOL AS IF CARLTANK SUCK CARLTON SUPPORTERS ARE SO DELUSIONAL OMG LOL!!!!!!"

Carlton supporters feeling some misplaced sense of empowerment from an opposition supporter talking them up, and providing more ammo for oppositon flogs.

Congrats Podge, your plan has worked like clockwork.

I'd love it if we lined up against the Blues at some point. The higher the stakes the better.

It's payback time.
If it takes one finals win over us to get 'payback' for everything we've inflicted upon you in September over the decades, then all power to ya.

Sydney have the home ground advantage and are in very good nick at the moment. They're a logical favourite on those grounds.

Funny old thing right there.

The Sydney folk are talking up their finals record at ANZ. Which rests primarily on performances early in the decade.

Not many mentioning the record of THIS Sydney team at ANZ. Which I believe is a 5 game losing streak.

Against Collingwood, Geelong and St Kilda though.

Fair point - but you'd not expect Sydney to lose against all three at the SCG.

Sydney have had to put out a different vibe this week, but they detest ANZ.

The following is just a random article, but it does accurately reflect the club, supporter and player feelings on the matter.

SWANS star Ryan O'Keefe declared the SCG to be Sydney's only home ground and said the players and fans would be desperate to avoid another trip to ANZ Stadium for an AFL final.

Thiss ^^ I can't believe people didn't click onto HPs motive earlier

HP is a troll and a very good one as well

I would be surprised if the Blues won the first final. Their record in the second half of 2010 is 4 wins and seven losses.
Their 4 wins?
Against teams who finished 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th on the ladder
That suggests the in form Swans might be too good this week

No team in history has finished 11-11 (or worse) and won a final. To make the grand final, Carlton would have to win 3.

Carlton have not won 3 games in a row all year, yet would need to do so now to make the grand final.

We only have 1 match-winner (Judd), and our first opponent are as good at any team in the league at stopping him.

Our first final is on the road, against a team who flogged us by 8 goals a month ago (at home), and who have beaten us in roughly 70 of the last 71 times we've played.

Even if we beat the Swans (maybe a 10% chance), we'd have to beat the Bulldogs (50% chance at absolute best - if they have another couple of injuries this week) and St Kilda (lucky to be a 10% chance given their recent record against us, their week off, the coaching discrepancy, and the way they played last night). By my estimation that makes the Blues a roughly 1 in 200 chance to make the grand final.

That said, we've seen it before. In 1999, the road opened up for a similarly mediocre Carlton team with one great player in a similar fashion. Play well enough to beat the Swans as a team (some hope), beat an injury-ravaged Bulldogs on a ground that suits us (the MCG), and stay close enough for Judd to work some magic against the Saints. Its more probable than 1999 was, in my opinion, so we can hope. At least until 2:17pm on Sunday when the Swans open up a 4-goal lead and it all comes crashing down...

Have confidence sunshine. If there is a side that can do it from 8th its definately Carlton. we have beaten both Geelong and St Kilda this year. We recapture that form in the finals we stand a good chance. The best part about our team is we are young and unpredictable. If we get over Sydney at ANZ stadium we have a good shot at making the grand final.
