Flights are flipping ridiculous! I'm contemplating flying to Sydney then driving to Brissy to save some cash, and I bet that once our game time is confirmed, flights for Sydney will pump too

Was $550 from Brisbane to Melbourne yesterday. School holidays have just kicked off up here too

Check out flights to Gold Coast - then train it to Brisbane. You can do those for under $700 (just checked sky scanner). $576 to Sunshine Coast (Thursday flight) $1,000 Friday.
DiDi does good rates for long distance ride share, car hire or train works too.
Sunshine Coast & Gold Coast are only 1hr (ish) drive & train is an option

It was the 3rd event, I’d be keeping a very close watch to see if they release another.
It sucks but members do have their own allocation they can have a crack at.
That was ridiculously simple to get the ticket- add to cart- Apple Pay & done in 30 seconds

Nope, was told about the event releases earlier & was looking at options for a mate in Melbourne & it was just there so I grabbed it, then posted it in here that there was tickets available straight away

Well Qantas had the opportunity to claw back some public goodwill and they ****ed it. No way I can fly up to Brisbane when it will cost over $3k for the family. What are the chances they'll show the game on screens at Ikon? I'd be well keen for that.

Just got tickets to the second event. More expensive ($425) but seems all good

Lucky I was randomly refreshing the page as I haven't seen it announced anywhere.

Thats what I got as well, flying up Thurs evening coming back Sunday. Everything all up costing me about 2.5k (including accomodation), but what the hell you only live once!

Almost every room in Brisbane is booked out.

A reminder to book via the airline if possible, they will have some rooms on reserve. Managed to get a 2 bed room at the holiday inn, which does not show up on booking.com or google hotels, but was listed on the virgin hotel site clicking the link in the flight itinerary email.

Refundable room too up until tuesday, so check for rooms around the city again then as people cancel if they don't get footy tickets.

Saturday was meant to be the start of a family holiday, doing a big chunk of the drive from the Vic. border to northern NSW on route to the Sunshine Coast. That will now be brought forward to Friday, with arrival into the Gold Coast Saturday am. Drop the kids at my wife's sister's place and head to the Gabba hopefully.

One minor issue is a ticket to the game. Bit frustrating seeing barcodes going to people who suddenly decide they want to be involved.

Happy to pick up any hitchhikers wearing navy along the way!
