Matthew Lloyd trash talked Carlton out of a long standing bitterness and bias against the club under the guise of journalism?

Oh, say it ain't so, next you will be twlling me if I jump in a lake I will get wet.

Oh, the humanity of it all.

Carlton hosted international physique competitor Steve Cook today.

And we marvel at Curnow or Kerridges pipes.

Imagine him and Crippa in the midfield

If he's like most others who work out to that level, he'll have stuff all flexibility, be mostly immobile and zero coordination.

Human version of a T-Rex trying to catch and kick a footy.

Nah i've followed him for a while, he used to place College American Football, and is really focused on his overall physical capabilities. Does a bit of cross-fit, yoga, movement classes, physical endurance events like Spartan Races etc. For a bodybuilder he is a very strong athlete.

Obviously im joking about him playing but i'd like to see the footage of him having a run with the boys

Listened to Matthew Lloyd rabbit on again on Sportsday. Felt compelled to ring up and fix a few things that he had misrepresented;
1) Steve Silvagni has had 1 season in the job not two as "the Flog" kept saying.
2) We have 5 players that Champion data rated as elite or above average. Essendon have 6 and the Western Bulldogs had 6 two years ago. This figure is obviously impacted by list age.
3) We have 15 players from other clubs on the list. Some like Marchbank, Pickett, Docherty, Plowman will be long term guns whilst others are there to protect the kids and have a limited shelf life.
4) The Toohey trade was primarily done as he was expendable and we needed a first round pick for Marchbank. The other option was to use pick 5.

Derwayne was condescending but at least there was some balance presented.

Huge privelege tonight. David King is about to rip us to pieces after agreeing with ML on "on the couch". Then I get to relive it with "footy classified" at 10 with that muppet. It's sad but I'm hoping Caro goes at him with the facts.

So apparently we have jarrod Pickett, that is our only player from GWS that is any good. All others are poor. "Relative rating" according to age and position our players between 22-25 are well below average. Please ****ing unpack the data and explain where it comes from.

Bryce Gibbs should of been moved on according to them. I would put money on it, that if we moved him on and got gallucci and Lyons and lost by 90 to saints. The statement would be. "Carlton made a mistake of not keeping experience". Media are ****ed. Stay strong people. Bound by blue

I will point out, lastly, the relative rating stat king eluded to had 4 players in the green below the age of 22 who he isn't talking about. It also doesn't count 11 new drafted players. Those 4 would be out of plowman, silvagni, docherty, curnow, weitering, cuningham who have data against there names. All these short forecasts are based on previous data. Two players smedts and Palmer are off terrible seasons (injury or other) at high scoring clubs where they couldn't contribute as much. 2017 looks a lot brighter than what all these peanuts are saying. Bounding by blue.

Well after an intensive 6 month summer investigation , David King has discovered that Carlton have a deficiency in their 23 + age demographic .
That's why he's on the big bucks folks ...

Is this the same guy that a couple of years ago declared Melbourne & Saints basket cases and last picked Freo for the flag?

So, King said we should have let Gibbs go.

He's also said Adelaide should have traded enough to get Gibbs.

Some people (and I think King is one of them) might think the two statements support each other.

The fact is they are contradictory.

They are about to bring up something about daisy Thomas shortly too. Let the Carlton bashing continue I say. Round 1 we will be out to prove a point and watch us smash the **** out of Richmond. I don't get why they're not including Richmond, port, Geelong, north, brisbane in these discussions about lists.

2 years ago I told my wife, after watching her painfully witness her team (dogs) go down to good teams, that their list is amazing. She didn't believe me. I have a somewhat similar opinion about ours right now. It'll happen. Eventually. There will be some requoting going on Friday after we beat or atleast challenge Richmond.

David King, come on down and join Lloydy in the group of pundits who can't conceive of what the Club is trying to do.

My rebuttle to his utter nonsense is thus:

1 - the Club is in a fluid state regarding contracts. Did I read correctly we have 20-odd players out of contract at the end of 2017? That's the space we want to be in. We want these guys fighting for 10 spots. We want them to be hungry each and every day they're at the club. Twenty into ten doesn't go. That way these guys will fight tooth and nail for spots on the list, and if they don't? They're gone.

Slowly but surely better talent will replace those guys that aren't up to it. That's how this system works.

2 - We needed a culture shift in more ways than one, both on and off field, and what SOS has done has picked players of character. More importantly, he's completely reinvigorated the way the club deals at the trade table, on draft night and internally with contract renewals.

For the first time in 15-20 years we hold the cards on the negotiating table. No more Waite limping into the footy ops manager's office and walking out with a lucrative 4-year deal.

3 - SOS's dealings with Adelaide re: Gibbs were important on a number of levels. We couldn't really afford to lose a good player, let alone for a cheap price. He set the ticket price and he held his ground. We were either going to get full freight or keep our man. Importantly, now clubs know we aren't a pushover.

4 - Billy Smedts and Rhys Palmer, amongst others are short term place holders. Everyone, including them, know that full well.

We've gone from having an old list, how could we forget it, the media reminded us every day, to the third youngest list in the league. We've invested heavily in the draft, as King and Co wanted us to, and now must show some patience whilst they develop.

5 - King fails to acknowledge a major facet of GWS' construction: they were designed to bleed blue chip, top talent back into the system. They were designed to top up with top young kids, which they'd then have to shed as years went on. So us getting a number of them is irrelevant in a way, as every club would be looking at getting these boys.

Seriously, were one day into the 2017 Fox Footy media and I'm fed up.

Cheesed off?

Only love for brisbane. Hipwood and Andrews are apparently absolute guns (all due to preseason form). What about macreadie/marchbank who had better preseason games in floggings and curnow/Pickett. Yes they spoke about one of them. But no smoke blown or highlight reel. Just wanking on kings new statistic

Brisbane have light at the of tunnel with all the talent they are stockpiling though..
Depends if they have the culture and desire to maintain and harvest that talent. Brisbane simply have not been able to hold onto players since their premiership days.

Let's just say i'll believe it when I see it.
