Just watched this, very funny. I love the whole series so far.

I'm sure Fish resented not playing 100 games at the time, but now he looks like he feels lucky to have played 99 games, not bitter over the one he missed. :thumbsu:

I wouldn't want him around even if he was paying for the privilege.
I think there is a huge difference between Robert Walls media personality & Robert Walls football aficionado.

Although he may have been out of the club side of things for some time, you don't lose the football knowledge this bloke has. As he states in the linked article, he has experience at struggling clubs & we certainly fit this description & what he achieved at the Brisbane Bears was as good as any coaching feat.

I don't see any downside for our coaching panel, many of whom are still inexperienced, being able to pick his brain, particularly given he will be under a lot less pressure than the coaches in the heat of a game.

There would want to be, because he's said nothing publicly inside the last ten years that would qualify as an astute observation.

It is one thing for Stephen Silvagni to refer to Carlton as 'a new club' on Footy Classified, to spruik the changes we've made in recruiting, to lure players based on vision and quality individuals, on 'belonging'. It is another to bring in a famous hardarse of a coach who's said and done nothing within a club since the other side of the Y2K scare.

And I don't see the worth in the 'experience in struggling clubs' thing, either. Mark Neeld has plenty of experience at shit clubs, should we get him in?

I have severe misgivings about this. Was there no-one else who could've done this?

I wonder if doing it voluntarily means he would be even more effective. Don't have to protect a pay packet. Then again it might go to the other extreme too, where he oversteps.

I’m reading this and thinking WTF! People outside of the club want a man on the inside. How does that happen?

I would have thought Bolton and the other coaches would have to agree to Wall’s involvement and that would only occur after they had met each other and thrashed out a role.

If Walls is involved he will be appointed by the CFC.

It’s a mentoring role. It might involve having a cup of coffee and a chat about how you’re feeling. Anything you want to discuss. Nothing too complicated.

Anyone with a dick head attitude will want to think twice unless they're willing to end up in a boxing ring.

I wonder how Cripps would go 1 v 10...
