I'm still wondering how the Pies are considered certainties to be better than the Blues next year despite having absolute peanuts coming through in terms of youth and 3/4 their list on the brink of retirement?

Youth lol. Carlton has the worst youth in the AFL. Not one Carlton player listed in the top 40 of Under 24s. Not one player in the 22 and under All Australian Team. Their youth is so bad that when there are discussions on the best young players in the league, they throw up Walsh who turns 25 next year. Not only do they have no youth they have a bunch of middle-aged plodders who are not built for finals football and a coach who cannot coach. Years of pain ahead. Sorry MORE years of pain ahead,

McReery, Dean, Macrae, Parker, Begg, Eyre, McInness, Long, Steene, Harrison, Allan, Ryan, Jiath, Smit and Demattia.

15 players who you will need to rely on to fill the gaps left by the 30+ year olds in the next year or two and only 3 of them have played 20+ games at AFL level. And only a further 2 between 10-19 games...
